I noticed that the Ring alarm has been just made available in the UK.

My wife is presently in the US. The Ring alarm is quite a bit cheaper there. Is there any reason i should buy the UK over the US one? Does the US alarm work in Ireland? I am Ok that there is no cellular backup and no professional monitoring...

Sorry for the late post, but I'll just mention in case others come across this.

Ring uses Z-wave, which use different radio frequencies in the US to Europe. Using a US device in Europe would be illegal and quiet likely to suffer from interference and would not be compatible with extra devices sold here.
