    Eh, I think it's KLF.

    What time have you?

I don't think I have anything nice enough to get anyone on here excited!

Likewise, but always excited to get a look at other pieces in the flesh!
Not sure how it was arranged previously, but can details please be kept off the public forum. Knowing a bunch of watch nerds are meeting with many thousands of euros worth of man jewelry would be very useful information for the right criminal!

    If I can I'll make it :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,110 ✭✭✭Thirdfox

Haven't been to one of these before - I can certainly bring some quirky pieces along and definitely seconding the privately sharing the venue ha - well quirky doesn't have to be expensive at least ;)

    I'd be up for that.

I reckon maybe we take this to PM and organise it there? Safety an that and a better way to gauge interest and work out when and where.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

    Who should we pm?

Good point MA. I'm probably the best bet, mostly because mods get subscriber extras like the ability to send PM's to more people.

I’d love to go along if it was going to happen. My watch collect isn’t that big at all, but I’d like to go check out some of what’s in offer here. Just to see what I might go for next.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 94 ✭✭Horoaddict

Likewise, just really starting in the rabbit hole that is collecting! Have heard a lot about redbar and such around the world so would definitely be great to do an Irish meet up!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 373 ✭✭Edser

    Would be interested too.

OK what about suggestions for dates that would suit? Throw up a few and I'll rattle up a poll to gauge preferences.

Great idea, I'm also interested depending on location. Based in Limerick, but open to travel if on a weekend.

In North County Dublin myself. Can meet anywhere round the M50

I’d be a maybe too depending on location and date. I will feel a little inadequate with my modest collection, :( but it would be great to see some of the interesting watches many here have and put some faces to the names.

    I'd be up for this.
Have a bit of hectic domestic schedule, but would love to meet the crew and talk bollocks about watches.

Every watch has points of interest and a reason or reasons why they cause strange stirrings in our tummies.

What I like to hear about is why you like your watch, any history it has or story connected with it, anything you can tell me about the maker and the movement. All that stuff.

No one worth talking watches with cares how much they cost :)

    Glad you said tummies! :p

And totally agree with your point - god knows how many watch fans I've managed to convince to get a Vostok amphibia after I explained/preached to them about how cool the tech/history behind it was.

Doesn't mean I don't enjoy someone discussing their lovely Patek piece either.

Even this Ralph Lauren "fashion" piece actually does have horological significance (though I know there will definitely be people who'd turn up their nose at a "fashion" brand making watches) :D

Think the RL piece costs something like 200k usd?
