Durty Nellie's Bunratty in its heyday was really good spot if you are interested in meeting someone from America who's looking for a nice Irish guy for fun...

The reasons for this stuff(and I've heard similar from non Irish guys too BTW) are down to the exotic factor, both in the women and as a guy overseas having flingettes(and the extra confidence that brings), the fantasy women that's out there factor, or knowing feck all women in general, so ascribing traits to them by remote control.
