Not the best looking ppv they have had but the next 2 are looking good so we can make do. Though this may well be a good card. I am going for Whittaker in the main event, anyone who can go 10 rounds with Romero and win both times should be the favourite in their next fight no matter who they are fighting.
The co-main should be fun, I'm picking Iaquinta in that one.

    I'm backing Adesanya, TKO.

Really looking forward to the main and co-main but not a great card overall.

Looking forward to seeing Jamie Mullarky on the big stage.
Fancy Tai and Jake to get it done.

Rob will expose Israel’s grappling badly. He subs him imo

Whitaker has been in two wars with Romero and has had some rotten injuries the past few years, while Adasenya has been fresh and very active.

Think Adasenya finishes him last in the fight.

Doubt Adesanya will make it to the championship rounds. Round 3 KO by Whittaker for me. He beat Yoel in the first fight with one one leg and then with one hand in the second fight, the man is unstoppable. Adesanya nearly got knocked out by Kelvin and would have lost if Gastelum didn't go for a takedown at the dumbest moment possible.

Just got an email about this. Seems tickets prices have dropped to try and shift some more. Available from $35 which is a steal imo

Wow that is some price, considering what some paid for bellator last weekend.

google says $35 is around €20. you would pay that for local events here

    Adesanya by KO/TKO
A friend of mine lives in Auckland and he said that there's very little buzz about it in the media over there (the rugby world cup probably doesn't help in that respect)

Putting the event on in a 54000 capacity stadium was overly ambitious. They did UFC 193 in a 56000 capacity in Melbourne too but that was at the height of Ronda Rousey's popularity.

This week promoting the fight Adesanya has talked about fighting Jon Jones for the 205 belt in 2021 and then fighting Stipe or whoever is heavyweight champion at that time. I know it's probably just to build hype but Jones decision him easily and Miocic would just wreck him.

Really poor card, not sure I’ll stay up for it.
    Not being ppv helps though.

Hard to call the main event.
8/11 Whittaker 1/1 Adesanya seems spot on.

How do you think Justin will do?
I know Junior is a really good big man for a kickboxer but don't know much about Justin at all.

Are you surprised Justin is getting a UFC fight while Junior is still sticking to kick boxing?

Not quite sure I understand this gif - It's a genuinely bad card for a PPV

This is the same stadium as the Ronda event. UFC193
Capacity is probably 70-75,000. They weren’t trying to sell it out. Upper tier isn’t open.

Woke up excited for this one.

Backing Whittaker to take this TKO in Round 2

Looked a bit like Adesanya píssed off Whittaker at the face off.

Not that it'll mean anything come the fight.

Jones would murder him, never mind Stipe

Jamie Mullarkey getting his debut tonight Against Brad Riddle.

Strong connections with Sligo,he was over visiting a few years ago, really sound guy.

Hopefully he will get the win and some support

That's one big venue. Looks a bit empty still. I wonder what the views are like in the furthest corners of the floor

I don’t know much about Justin. But he’s been hyped a lot. First round walkof KO

Not a great first round for Jamie but he usually adapts well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Hard to call that second round. Could be two to Riddell or one apiece.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,517 ✭✭✭VW 1

Some last round, huge punishment absorbed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Gutted for Jamie but he showed how tough he is. Fight of the night for sure.

Jamie is only 25 so he has time on his side. Hopefully he can learn from this and come back a better fighter.

I think Riddell could be a good one other can improve his takedown defense.

Fight of the Night unless we're in for another treat, extremely impressive, both had nothing left to give

    That was a great fight.

Just realised that DC is at Marvel stadium......!!!

Ah, delighted for Potter. Seems like a good guy. Meant the world to him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,481 ✭✭✭Still Ill

That's one hairy man right there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,589 ✭✭✭The White Feather

This fight was a dud. Even DC sounds bored

Those last two fights were absolute duds.

Hopefully the main card is better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,589 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Even though its a record , the crowd seem really quiet all night maybe its because of the big arena

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,481 ✭✭✭Still Ill

Can't beat a walk off KO!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,589 ✭✭✭The White Feather

A real lights out KO there!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,481 ✭✭✭Still Ill

Lima must be cutting some serious weight here... Or else Jumeau isn't. Serious size difference.

    Crowd is terrible for 57000

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,481 ✭✭✭Still Ill

Can't understand why fighters in these situations don't just completely spam the leg kicks. He probably only threw about 3/4 in that round. Surely he could just do it endlessly?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,481 ✭✭✭Still Ill

What was that first judge watching?!

It’s been a bag of ****e in fairness.

Hopefully the last two fights are decent.

Buzzing for this. Whittaker with the submission win

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,481 ✭✭✭Still Ill

That's Cejudo levels of cringe right there.

His chest is red from repeated punching already...
