Is it okay? We're talking about 17+. I was listening on 98fm and most said there isn't a problem with it. I find Ireland relatively liberal in this as I'm from Africa and it would be out of the question unless the person is married.

You need to give it a break , you're just going to polish it to a point.

Depends on the parents and whether they let you call them Sir or Madam.

You need to see the real world. Who gives you these impressions?

That is part of the reason why many consider Africa to be the third-world.

Just try to keep quiet and you should be fine. When I was screwing my then 17 year old girlfriend I would make sure that if her parents were in the house at the time that I never had sex on the same floor, it can get noisy. If they are upstairs then down to the clothes washer towards the back door, throw her up on that and start working away, I would always turn it on, the washing machine that is, then cut loose and shag like rabbits, always with protection, I didn't want no babies.

Likewise the textbook " homework" scenario. If we were horny in the early evening then up to her bedroom for happy times. You soon learn how to be nice and quiet when you are shagging, a bit like a prisoner learns to masturbate silently when he is sharing a cell with other men, for fear of upsetting their sleep.

I have never had sex in Africa though, in saying that I have never been to Africa either. What is sex like in Africa and why is it different to having sex in your parents house, is it because it is nearer the equator?

When I had a girlfriend around, my mother's attitude was: "I don't know - or want to know - what you're doing. But whatever you do, be careful."

sorry, youre not a sex ninja.

Putin is a dictator. Putin should face justice at the Hague. All good Russians should work to depose Putin. Russias war in Ukraine is illegal and morally wrong.

sorry, youre not a sex ninja.

Very judgemental of you. Ninja is an exaggeration, it is all about knowing what programmes her parents like watching on TV. The news is always a good one and in-depth thrillers that keep them on the edge of their seats, so engrossed in the telly that they forget we are even there and that I am balls deep in their daughter upstairs in her bedroom, under their own hard fought for and worked roof. The cheek of me, pumping away as my girlfriend lies squirming in ecstasy on her bedroom floor, carpet burnt and sweating , like a good girl.

Being left to stay over but in the spare bedroom ;)
Getting down to action on the floor so as not to be caught out by the bed banging!

I remember one time me and the original Mrs Banie were studying one time, when my Nana came up the stairs and started banging on the door...
Shouting what'd I do if her father was the one shouting for her?
She wasn't too happy with me when I told her he'd have to knock too :pac:

My daughter's partner stays over regularly sleeps in her bed and I'm sure they have sex. I'm okay with that once they are discreet. I really don't need to be listening to them at it.

Wasn’t permitted when I was in my teens in the late 70s (didn’t stop me though) . I had no problem with my children having their girlfriends stay over and I presume they had sex, that’s their own business. I only had one rule, no one-night stands please, I like to know who is in my house

I broke the one night stand rule quite a few times when I was growing up. I always stayed downstairs as I tried to trick the family into thinking if we stayed in the living room that nothing happened. It seemed to work too until the mother came down one morning & there was a fake tanned shaped outline of a person on her cream living room carpet. Not fun explaining that one.

Not everyone's parents would be ok with it so some respect that. It's not that out there. This forum's age group is mostly adult yet this thread has lots of responses as if it's back to rebellious, trying to look cool, teenage years.

    There's nowhere else whatsoever?

If I had a teenage son or daughter I wouldn't care once it's not a one night stand and they're using protection, but for parents of previous generations it's not as straightforward. Plus, I get why people would feel a bit cringey shagging a few rooms away from their parents. Not every family has a new agey, Viz The Modern Parents thing going on (thankfully - parents being lame and uncool seems more the natural order imo).

I thought the reason was because of their poor living standards, resulted from a decolonization and an demographic explosion. And to be honest, I think the OP lied about Africa being not liberal (unless he is from North Africa), being there and people starts their sexual life very young by 17 they have already children.

That's actually not "liberal", women from tribes tend to get married off early (now with education it's later). But that was the case in pre-historic humans for thousands of years. Women got married when they started puberty at 13-14.

My family back home is African and don't believe in dating until you're 18.

I registered just to reply to this although I look through boards regularly.

I'm very taken aback that someone claiming to be from "Africa" firstly doesn't name the country or at least identify region.

Because, you know, 54 countries majority of which are multiethnic with varying cultural values and norms simply cannot be lumped as "Africa".

Would you say the same if your parents were from Europe? No. You'd name the location

This kind of thing is why people can post such rubbish as "that's why people think Africa is backwards".

Yeah, a whole continent bigger than the USA and China combined is all the same! We're ALL the same. Not! Why say you have African parents? Do you not see the damage that creating a monolithic version of a billion people does? But then from your question I think you're quite young.

I also come from an African country. One in the South and can unequivocally tell you that plenty of people outside of the unfortunates married off due to living in extremely rural areas or locked into a certain middle Eastern religion or certain parts of the continent have sex freely.

No, it's not respectful to have sex in a parents home, but then, you don't bring casual boyfriends over and certainly not for overnights and that's pretty much also what I found when I moved here to Ireland for most people.

Does that mean people don't date? Of course they do. Does that mean sec doesn't happen? Of course it does.

Also, times are changing, the conservative generations are being replaced by young people who simply don't care for society pressuring then into particular moral positions. I see this all the time on social media and with friends back home who get divorced, have openly loose lifestyles, who reject restrictive roles placed on married women, etc

Maybe you don't understand enough about your parents home country and are only exposed to the culture they have in your own home and that really is no reason to extrapolate to "Africa" as if every home or cultural grouping is the same.

That said, I have teenagers myself and no, they won't be having any sex that I know of in my house. We're a few years away from it but the thought of it is uncomfortable. I'm not a prude, conservative or religious. In fact I'd rather they let me know if they need any help or access to sexual health asap and I've no problem paying for that.

They can have sex, I'd just rather I'm not in the same house it's happening and I think many other parents not "African" would share that position.

when does a boyfriend become a partner?

A few months? After I've met them and they become a regular visitor to the house and we get to know each other. My daughter is 23, I respect her relationship and think its only right her partner can stay over. There's no reason for me to say no.

Awkward is an understatement. I could never do it. Usually it was the back seat of a car or a cheap hotel.

"Sex in your parents house" is very broad OP.

Having a ride in the kitchen while Dad is reading the sunday paper - probably not.
Having a ride in my bedroom door locked and being discrete ? - definitely.

If I'm honest, I don't think my father would have been overly comfortable with the first option. Just a hunch mind.
