Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Radio Display Faulty

My Oxx Internet Radio has developed a display fault.
When powered on initially the display flashes on a few times then nothing.
The radio works perfectly and the display is actually working as can be seen in the photo when illuminated externally.
So my questions are what type of display technology is used in this? And any ideas on what I could do to either fix the lighting element or provide an alternative light source?

My guess is its a cold cathode

First thing to check is the usual suspect - bad capacitors.

Looks like plain Oled 4x20 or 4x16 display.

Count the number of characters across to get the actual number.
Very easily got on Ebay, etc. If the connectors are the same, you can be fairly sure it will be compatible.

Check the wires haven't fallen off the backlight panel, they can be flimsy..
but usually easier to replace the whole panel.
