Any sign of a first party nintendo sale this Christmas.

    Happy Christmas folks

This is a bargain alert of sorts.. maybe..
    https://twitter.com/Thunderfulgames/status/1341763756334981122

Thunderful games are currently giving away keys for the digital versions of their games. The first 5,000 participants will receive a key by email in January.
    You can choose between:
SteamWorld Heist, SteamWorld Dig 2, SteamWorld Quest or SteamWorld Dig
    for
    Nintendo Switch or Steam
The Switch Keys are region-specific, North American Keys, to activate you need a North American Nintendo Account. But that shouldn't be a problem, because this is easy to create and can be added to your console in addition to your Irish account. I don't know whether you can move your account. You get the same version as you would get in the European / Irish eShop.
The normal price is €12.49 for SteamWorld Quest in the eShop / on Steam.

Family sub for €29.57 from shopto.
I've no idea if this is the regular price or not, but claims to be reduced.

I called into GS in Swords and picked up Daemon X Machina for €20 myself.
They still had it labelled at €30 but the price when it was rang up was €20.
Looking forward to trying it out later.

It's a great racer. A bit trickier to master than MK8. And a lot less rubber banding than MK8. The single player campaign is great too. Great variety in what you have to do to complete each area.

It's down to €19.99 on the eShop now with the DLC complete version at €29.99.

Super bomerman r €7.50 in the eshop. Most of the reviews I've read are from initial release and don't speak very highly. Has there been patches/improvements made? Is it worth a punt at that price?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,211 ✭✭✭✭Suckit

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is €15.99 in eshop, or €11.29 in Russia

At that price, buy it. The biggest criticism of the game on release was the price. It was one of the first games released on the system back when games were scarce. Its a solid game and great for multiplayer.
Edit: As a side note, Bomberman Battle Royale is a free to play game on Stadia if you wanted an even cheaper way to get some Bomberman action. No subscription required, just login using your Gmail address and play. Provided you have a minimum Internet download speed of about 15mbs.

Anyone any experience of downloading from the Hong Kong e shop? Newbie question, but if a game is downloaded from there, is the language locked or can you change to English?

As far as I know, it says on the Nintendo website what languages are available. So if you try the Hong Kong Nintendo website, use Google translate on the game page to check what languages are available.

I've imported from HK and, as long as they are genuinely localised, they often include a english language option, but you'll have to check the details of the release online to ensure it really does.

Got lured in by the price and bought it, now realise it is probably too steep a learning curve for me, so up on adverts it goes, at a gouging price (not really).

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.
