Carers allowance - is there ceiling on max savings as it’s means tested?

    Friends OAP parents have non contrib pensions are applying for caters allowance

    Is there a ceiling on savings that they can have as the form requests 3 mths bank statements

    Capital Weekly means assessed
    First €20,000 Nil
    Next €10,000 €1 per €1,000
    Next €10,000 €2 per €1,000
    Balance €4 per €1,000

    So if they had say €60000 savings then
    They would be deemed to have
    €10 +
    €20 +
    €80 =
    €110 means from that €60000
    As a couple they can have €665 means per week.
    The €110 will be included in the calculation of this €665
    The non con pension will not.
