Finding it impossible to score against teams with 5 at the back, it's like my team just gives up, tried every tactic nothing happens.

Really wish there was a way of simulating a match in the full version. Feel its drags on having to play about 40+ games a season (I knw you can go on holiday but then the assistant gets all the praise lol)

Cause I was bored over the break, started up a game of Football Manager, to vent my desires for a rebuild. Can't do much in the first season, due to budget restraints, contracts, etc.

Won the league in Year One, but had a piss poor CL run.

But in the Summer of '20, the clearout begins and so does the rebuild. All culminated with me embracing my inner muppet.



Had to give him an insane contract with €6m goal bonuses for every 5 goals he scores. It will bankrupt the club but screw it, I'm Mr Short Term :P

One thing they haven't fixed is having a team that goes unbeaten 40 games in a row, and then when you finally lose it's like the players have never met each other before going on a ten game winless run, forgetting how to score a goal. It's terrible. This was with Barcelona btw

Getting really annoyed with players requesting new contracts this year. Playing as Manchester United (first time I've stuck with them in years despite always picking them first) and I capitulated to contract requests from Haaland, Fernandes & Ruben Dias giving each one a rise to £200k a week for only an extra year. I'd normally tell them to get stuffed but we were in an unexpected title race after me shockingly not getting the sack from a 7th place finish the season before (thank you FA Cup) and I needed them happy.

Now the 3 of those are amazing, Bruno was POTY for me & Dias is a rock. I'm not getting the best out of Haaland annoyingly but anyway, he's worth it. Summer comes and Jadon Sancho wants a new deal. He only has two years left so why not but it's worth mentioning he has massively under-performed. He only has 10 league goals in 85 games and is coming off a season where he got 4 goals & 5 assists in all competitions & an average rating of 6.86, losing his spot to Daniel James in the process and only regaining it when James broke his ankle in April. Not a great return for £80m & £155k a week. He has the cheek to request £300k a week and when negotiating the agent went straight back to 300k with the orange warning. **** right off!

I didn't win the league fwiw, drew with City 2nd last game of the season with Haaland missing three clear cut chances in the 2nd half. Last game didn't matter cos Liverpool won their match but we lost to Norwich & came second by 4 points. Yearly review says I failed the original requirement to challenge for the title - it went to the final day. How much more of a challenge can I do without winning it?! We then lost the Europa League final 2-0 to Porto so safe the say I'm not best pleased with my group of bottlers which makes Sancho's demands even more frustrating. I really needed that rant :pac:

Yep the contracts are very annoying, requesting a new contract 9 months into a 5 year deal, it's not realistic. I just keep telling them they're an important member of the squad and that seems to shut them up for a while. I've got Maddison, Tonali, Telles and Haaland all whinging. And also after winning the league and champions league Pogba still wants to move to a bigger club!

Any tips for a FM2020 newcomer who played Championship Manager back in the day but had to quit for the good of his mental health and objects in his general vicinity after runs of ridiculous results / the kiss of death that was the vote of confidence?

I'm sure others can go into more detail but assign tasks to your assistant manager and other staff. Training, match prep etc. If you like that amount of detail fine but if you're just looking to buy players, pick a formation and play matches then give others that responsibility.

In 2024 of my current game as Waterford FC manager and with help of the editor and putting lots of money into the club we are a force to be reckoned with. 3 league titles, 6 cups, 2x Europa league group stages and 1 last 32 game and currently in the Champions league group stages (getting destroyed tho)

Mick is still Ireland manager and I'm waiting for him to leave and I'll try for the job

Managed Barcelona for a year, in the following summer the Chairman elections are coming up.

The Chairman Bartomeu promises to sign Salah AND Mané if re-elected!

Ha, I said, this guy is as bad as a politician!

Sure enough a week later the guy gets reelected and instantly bids £159m for Salah and £133m for Mané!!!

WTF they both joined!!!!!! and yet the clubs bank balance is completely unchanged!

Where did that money come from? Very dodgy, expecting to get Financial Fair Play investigation soon.

Anyone know where I could download FM 2011 or 2012? Originally started at time with RB Leipzig in 2011 with added leagues but can't get my version to work - still have saved game files though. Could work from the 4th tier in 2012 version either.

I hate how when a player is transfer listed there is no negotiating with the club whatsoever

If he's listed for 15.75m, it's either that or nothing

Anyone doing any South American saves?

On one with Boca Juniors at the moment but it’s very hard finding players after the first season. No matter how hard I try the scouts aren’t picking local players just plenty of Brazilians (yes I’ve adjust search’s etc) I just can’t have more than 6 foreigners in the club!

The scare Argentinians that my scouts do recommend are all wanted by European clubs so rules me out straight away. Turning an enjoyable save into a miserable one at the moment.

On a different laptop for a couple weeks, didnt have my saves on the cloud so dont want to go with another 20 save since hopefully my old one will be fixed soon

Gonna have a quick look at the games from 12-15 or so and see which looks the most appealing for a game that might only last 2/3 seasons

So a strange takeover happened in my Man United save; a consortium headed up by Ed Woodward just bought the club at Christmas. Apparently Woodward wants to replace me with Ernesto Valverde cos of his business links in Spain I'm now not allowed to sign any players (thankfully I rejected a £150m offer from Barcelona for Sandro Tonali just days before this) and Sky Sports are running a poll on whether the fans believe I should be sacked. First poll 47% said yes, second poll 53%.

I won the club's first league title since Fergie just 6 months ago, currently in 3rd & only 4 points off the top, only lost 2 league games so far this season. Topped my Champions League group with a 6-0 win over Bayern Munich. Even in the time between those polls all that happened was I beat Wolves 6-1 in the league & 3-1 in the Cup. Plus I'm listed as favoured personnel for the club :pac:

The media have said a bad result will see me get sacked each game since the takeover. And to make things even funnier, Valverde was hired as Spurs manager on New Year's Eve. If they actually sack me I'm going to be furious :eek:

Got Crewe Alexandra promoted from League two -> Premier League in 7 seasons. Found it easy to get to the champ but found it difficult(ish) to get to the PL.
I also got Ireland u19s into a Euro final against England! Lost 1-0

If you're talking about processing time outside of games you can Remove leagues via the preferences tab under "Add/Remove leagues". Less amount of teams loaded the faster it goes.

Enjoying playing the game but having an issue with players disappearing, signed a new player, went to register him and he was no where to be seen, same with the squad numbers, did auto selection with both, he was given a squad number but he hasn't appeared in the first team squad page yet

Was reading online that some others are having problems as well with players disappearing

the signing may not go through until the start of next season - it happens with younger players or else a loan back clause means hes at his old club on loan check transfers in and loans

Have looked at all the squads,signed him as a free agent he isnt there, when the international duty message popped up he was one of the players going on international duty, have the same problem with another player in the squad

Started my usual non league save as Gateshead in Vanarama North, predicted to finish 24th.
Won league by 4 points and FA trophy

Applied for Blackburn Rovers job thinking no way I'm getting this as they were in Championship and lost in playoff final, but got offered interview then job.

So I've jumped 3 leagues after 1 season as a non league manager

4th in league now after 10 games, have Curtis Jones and Rhian Brewster on loan from Liverpool, both wonder kids

So....I have been indulging in CM 01/02 since lockdown began pretty much, and feel I have perhaps one more season left in me with WBA (three league titles in a row and chasing the CL this season ). Avoided getting this when it was available for free on Steam, but thinking of making the plunge shortly. Is it worth spending €54.99 on?

It's not worth spending €54.99 on through the Steam store, but for less than €20 through CD Keys it's worth it. The code comes instantly there's no reason to buy it for more through Steam.
