Raikkonen might skip friday practice due to a pulled muscle during training. Ericsson on stand-by to fill in if necessary.

When asked about what the problem is during the media conference, he gave a classic, epic Kimi answer:

    ""Sport. Injuries. Getting old." :D:D:D

With a chance of rain on Sunday, I threw a fiver on Russell to get a point at 66/1.
Wouldnt be right if Kubica got a point and he didnt by year end.

One thing that may annoy Russell is that even if he does score a point in one of the remaining races, kubica will still be classified ahead of him as he scored his point earlier in season!.

Kimi plans to do FP1 and will evaluate if he can continue with the weekend after that. Ericsson is on standby for FP2 onwards.

Norris has, as expected, recovered from his own injury in time. Sirotkin isnt required to replace him this weekend

Interesting enough FP1 , Team Red well clear and Team Blue reasonable clear of Team silver .
I suppose its good to see Force india up the top tier for a race.
Lot of teams taking penalties this weekend as well.

That's not how it works, they work on count backs if two drivers are tied on points. So if Russell managed to score a point somehow he would be ahead on account of his 11th place finish in Germany

Delighted to here that. He is young so should have quick recovery times.

As for Kimi maybe it is time he started thinking about retiring now. Maybe Alfa will have a whole new driver line up next year.

When I seen Team Red my first thought was Red Bull but then I seen the table and went Awe Ferrari. So same as every FP1 session then. Come Qualifying Mercedes will be back on top. Would be great to see Ferrari or Red Bull there instead do.

Ha , sorry I realise now that it is a bit confusing ...that maybe because I actually managed to stay away from F1 for the entire break and I could only remember team Colours

Watching Sky earlier I spotted David Coulthard in the background chatting to a mechanic. Putting in the leg work for the C4 coverage.

A few things jump out from the FP1 times, Albon within a tenth of Verstappen on his first time in the car. Meanwhile Gasly 3 tenths off Kvyat…. the change begins to make even more sense. And Kubica 2 tenths slower than Latifi, only way Kubica keeps the drive next season is if his sponsors find more millions.

    Well,
That doesn't take rocket science to figure he is getting old,
Where did the finishing or leaving this season come from is what I am wondering?

Hamilton playing his usual game claiming Merc are miles off the pace tops qualifying and wins the race. Verstappen to qualify at least three tenths ahead of Albon.Leave Kubica in situ next year. Russell still almost two seconds behind the car in front despite running the new Merc engine. The new aero "upgrades" are clearly not working.

Big of a repair job on that given the angle!

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,631 ✭✭✭✭antodeco

That was quite an impact. I'd say they could struggle for qualifying. I'd see a penalty of some sort because something will have to have broken in that car!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,904 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Mercedes may be sandbagging a bit but Ferrari seem to have the quickest car. Ah well not to worry, I'm sure they'll find a way to cock up the weekend somehow

Just watching the coverage on sky and that front of Hamilton’s car looked like it took a heavy shunt.

What struck me was Lewis didn't let go of the steering wheel, which is odd. He clearly passed the point of no return in the crash, but held onto the wheel.

All from new spec engines as well.

I don’t think Ferrari will have the new spec in until Monza so they should be ok.

I thought that’s what I heard but on reflection that might have been Haas they were talking about.

Yup, Ferrari aren't running it until next weekend, but Haas and Alfa ran it yesterday.

Looking to keep the milage down apparently

It was horrendous. Could see the feet of the driver in the upside down car as it slid up the track. Hubert's car split in two after he hit the wall and came back across the track and got T-boned by the white car. That was the driver whose feet I could see.
