There looks to be better options than Pope currently. Maybe Ramsdale, Ryan or Guita.

Very surprised to see double City attack.

Like your defence. If you did need cash I’d think about TAA to Aurier. Not sure many premium defenders can justify their price.

I think 4 of my midfielders would be Mane, Salah, Alli and Son. Although I appreciate one may want to go without LFC for the next 6 GW’s.

I think I’d favour 3-5-2. I was looking the other day and iirc there’s a lot more options for the 5th midfielder, at that price point, about/under 7m ?, than there is for a forward at that price point.

So you’re looking at Connolly for your bench rather than Cantwell. Do appreciate it’s probably a coin toss and Cantwell maybe looks a better 1st/2nd sub at the minute.

But my biggest takeaway ? Why 2 City attackers ?

It's a one or two game week punt. The majority in my league will be benching Mane so I am trying to steal a march. Will swap to Mane/Salah after the Leicester game. Looking at alternatives to pope now as well. Don't want double Palace or Bournemouth

    A 1-3 GW punt ?

Spurs, Everton or Chelsea midfielder for me.

Edit - and Ryan as GK if you’re avoiding double ups

    Thoughts on this?

    Pope/Heaton
    Kelly, Soyuncu, Robertson, Lundstram, Rico
    Salah, Grealish, Mane, Alli, Dendoncker
    Vardy, Ings, Jimenez

Would leave me 0.8 in the bank.
I was possibly thinking about Rico to Kabalese who is 4.3.
I'm also keeping Alli and dropping Maddison.
I could do the opposite which would free up more funds.

Try to get Cantwell instead of Dendonker. More chance of points.
Not sure of triple Liverpool, maybe Mane or Salah to KDB.

Trouble is I don't know if I should be going with Mane or Salah.

Does anyone really know? Similar price. Similar points likely over the course of the season. There is no right or wrong between them.

I think Salah shades it at the minute, he has some set pieces in his locker but doesn't seem get the bonus points

If I find a way to save 0.8 I could go with this:

    Pope, McGovern,
    Kelly, Soyuncu, Robertson, Lundstram, Kabalese
    Salah, Mane, KDB, Grealish, Cantwell
    Vardy, Ings, Jimenez

I'm think Jimenez to someone 6.6 or under is one way?
    Or Robertson to VVD?

Would you look at starting one of Cantwell or Connolly each week depending on who has the best fixture ?

Might allow you to have the 6 other attackers you want.

    Haven’t priced it myself.

You may have to also forgo Robertson.

    Now settled on this...

    Pope,McGovern
Lundstram, Kiko Fermenia, VVD, Soyuncu, Kelly
    Mane, Salah, KDB, Grealish, Dendoncker
    Ings, Vardy, Abraham

I don't see the point of having Cantwell when he will rarely, if ever, play.
The .4 he frees up and changing Kabalese to Fermenia allows me Abraham instead of Jimenez.

Don't know what your selling prices are but the below should get you to it

    Pope to McCarthy
Any Defender to Hanley - (Norwich captain) - started again at the weekend
Cantwell to Nakamba - Assuming cantwell is just bench fodder - might as well just get a 1/2 point guaranteed midfield player that's cheap

Thinking of playing wildcard tonight to change team to:

    Foster, Gazzaniga
Sidibe, Evans, Alexander Arnold, Chilwell, Lundstram
Salah, Mane, De Bruyne, Grealish, Cantwell
    Calvert-Lewin, Vardy, Ings

Button, Kelly, Robertson, Alli and Abraham making way.

    Is it worth it?
    Any opinions appreciated.

Edit: Just did Martial in for Grealish with my free transfer so wildcard saved for another week.

    In free fall

    Looking at

    Ryan/McGovern
    TAA/Robbo/Sidibe/Balbeuna/Lundy
    Salah/KDB/Filipe A/Lucas/Todd
    DCL/Ings/Aguero

    0.8 left in the bank

    Thoughts?

I think I'd be starting 4 def and 3 forwards there so would be looking at a 3rd premium mid and going cheap on the 4th.

Just messed around with a potential WC there. I would be going 4-4-2 with:

    Cheap/Cheap
    TAA/5ish/Lundy/Kelly/Rico
    Salah/Mane/KDB/Martial/Cantwell
    Aguero/DCL or Ings/Greenwood

Owning Salah and Mane along with KDB and Aguero would be a bit of a differential that I wouldn't mind chasing points with.

Part of the reason I’m WCing is cause I have Rico/Lundy/Kelly

    I think I’d prefer robbo/Digne/Anderson over say Lordy/Rico/Mane

The Anderson spot I’m undecided on. I could wait a couple of weeks to bring him in. Perez could be an option

I listened to the FMLFPL podcast and they were talking about players that they liked at the start of the season and didn’t work out. Ings was one, who has come good. Digne and Perez are two more that everyone liked at the start but didn’t fire for the first half. Likewise double Liverpool defence. Maybe they could start coming good now.

    Current tinker

    Foster/McGovern
    TAA/Jomez/Balbeuna/Soy/Digne
    Salah/KDB/Todd/Lucas/Perez
    Aguero/Jimi/Ings

Any glaring omissions from this selection?

    Pope/Hennessy

    Lundstram, Soyunchu, Kelly, TAA, Aurier

    Mané, KDB, Cantwell, Richarlison, Traoré

    Jiminez, Kane, Vardy

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,387 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

I wouldn’t pick Aurier. They’re terrible at the back. Sidibe would be a better pick. Ricky has done FA

Torn between going double Pool attack or defense. Mané+Mo is tempting - Mo seems to have got his groove back a bit of late - but likewise Pool have remembered how to keep clean sheets. Leaning towards double defense

    Salah V Mane +0.3?

Personally I'd go double Pool defence, the attacking returns (with associated bonus point gains) and lower cost should make it worthwhile, even when conceded goals are taken into account.

The cost of having both mo and Mane ties up too much money in my opinion.

Midfield looks light, and don't see any reason to have Kane when far better options available.

And no to Aurier, can't wait to rid myself of him

    Willian or Grealish or Traore

    Willian.

    In a heartbeat.

Such a trolly player. I'd actually have Traore out of those 3, he's looked insanely good lately, and he's cheap enough you can have him as part of a stronger squad, and bench him occasionally

    Fabianski (Button)
    TAA, Soyuncu, Lundstram (Kelly, Rico)
    Salah, Mane, KDB, Martial (Cantwell)
    Aguero, DCL (Greenwood)

Think I might just pull the trigger on that!

Team is currently in good shape and I'm sitting at 9K OR so I probably don't need to, but I don't think I can resist owning Mane, Salah, KDB and Aguero as part of my attack.

Plan would be to add another WHU before the double... maybe.

I’d have foster over Fab even with the DGW

    Taa Soyuncu Lundstram Rico Holgate
    Salah KDB martial traore shelvey

You must have a good team to be at 9k OR, how many changes are you making on the WC? Seems a bit drastic to be using the WC now when you can save it in case things go wrong later.

On the team, unless you have both already, I'd go for Masuaku instead of Rico or Kelly if it saves 0.2.
