Fun Fact...Spike Jonez directed this and that was one of the reasons Anthony Hopkins (aka Christopher Walken ) got involved. Walken had trained as a dancer and did most of the moves.

Loved it as a child. Nothing has changed. I remember being mesmirised by the video. Well I was mesmirised by a ton of videos but this one in parctiluar. I remember trying to do the dance in primary school.

The Clown - Beecake

Grew on me in every sense. Started off thinking this wasn't my bag but definitely got better. Still haven't fully figured out whats going on in the video. I gather its about the futility of life. Collecting all these possessions in a boat which is essentially a coffin that will eventually sink you. Is it as simple as; you aren't your possessions? They won't make you happy? The only part where they don't have their clown mask on is when they fully exerting themselves exercising. A hint to anyone that doesn't exercise regularly :pac: The exaggerated dinner scene is perplexing me. I like this video overall. The song fits. They certainly don't want to hold your hand. They've got a subtle message in there somewhere that can be open to interpretation. I'd love to sit down with the director. This one shot up the ranks on repeated viewings.

It dawned upon me on the fourth watch that that is none other than that fool of a Took, Peregrin "Pippin" Took from lord of the rings.

OK GO - Upside Down

I'm surprised I've never seen this OKGO video. They're an average enough band. One or two of their songs over the years have hugely resonated with me but not much more than that. But their videos on the other hand. It doesn't disappoint. They seem like a bunch of friends having a lot of fun. If I had a band with a bunch of friends, I'd love to think we'd put out this goofy, semi-poorly choreographed stuff. I can picture us sitting around a table coming up with outrageously stupid ideas. Can we do it? Why the hell not! Let's go! It takes the usual OK Go stuff (bad dancers doing choreographed moves with everyday objects) and adds a huge new dimension. The gravity. After watching this video once, I had to google "making of" straight away. Was it all done in one take? I actually wished I didn't go to the "making of" so quickly as half the fun is figuring these things out sometimes. It won't be winning any Oscars but it encapsulates what drew me to music videos growing up; fun, relatable and an element of "figuring it out".

Only OKGO video I knew is the one with the treadmills, and this zero gravity one is like that on crack! The song itself is decent but without that video probably wouldn't be particularly remarkable, so fits the category spot on as well.
