Frontline combo from a shop?

For years I bought flea and worm treatment from my vet which lasted 8 weeks for flea and 3 months for the wormer. They have since been taken over by a corporation and are now only selling generic treatment which are every month. It works out around double the cost over 12 months compared to the previous treatment.

The flea treatment was frontline combo and I recently seen it for sale in a pet shop.

Is there any difference to the vet supplied one ? The shop didn't think so but weren't sure.

The wormer was milbemax but not sure if this is only from the vet.

I'd rather use the previous ones as it's cheaper and more convenient.
