May as well get this started

Is tomorrow Barra Day? 12/1 available with 6 places PP/SkyBet. Once tipped as Elliots/Giggstown best mare in training if memory serves me right but she hasn't lived up to that.... Unlucky LTO with the fall, but hopefully can stay upright tomorrow!

Will Too Darn Hot be quite simply Too Darn Good or will Circus Maxiumus hold the form. 11/10 is too short

    Glorious
2.25 Eminence ew, Tribal Craft ew
    3.35 Phoenix of Spain

    Ballybrit
    6.10 Lucky Phil
    7.20 Poker Party

Good luck all. I would love to be up in Galway this week. Working instead, what a total bummer. I hope everyone grabs a few winners. I would love to be on the sauce in Galway for the next few days, trying to back a few winners and wearing the face of a few hot birds.

I heard someone disrespecting Sally Ann in another thread. Some guys on this forum have about as much of a clue about women as they do about horses. She is one of the best looking babes this country has, believe muddafuggers.

That's about the size of it, nothing else has the form to put a sheen on what is a poor Sussex Stakes. It's normally an important race but this year it's basically a G1 in name only. if Too Darn Hot doesn't step up then it's hard to see how any horse in that field is going to stake their claim to being a champion.

I'd love to see Circus Maximus put up a teak tough winning performance, but realistically Gosden has the Magical Ability to bring TDH back to his best and those Dubawis start to get back on track as the Autumn approaches.

The Plate is such a class race- hoping Coney Island's 13 pound in hand is enough!

Jessica Harrington won the 6.10 last year with a 4yr old making it's h'cap debut.
Today she runs Dandjira, a 4yr old making it's h'cap debut.
This meeting has a habit of repeating itself hopefully the same can happen again today.

    Dandjira 14/1 5 places pp 6.10

definitely one i'd be avoiding, in the grip of the handicapper following 2 modest wins in the last 12 months, not sure why it has such a high mark. unlikely to win carrying 10-0.

I'd be interested in Cosmic Horizon and Insane Bolt.

Can't imagine halpins on the fancied one , when crosse is his regular

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,092 ✭✭✭The Tetrarch

My pick is Circus Maximus in the Sussex Stakes at 5.7.
Gosden saying Goodwood is an easy mile indicates Too Darn Hot is probably better at 7f, the distance of his impressive win at Deauville last time.

Shane Crosse has ridden the horse once?

Gosden saying Goodwood is an easy mile indicates Too Darn Hot is probably better at 7f, the distance of his impressive win at Deauville last time.

At Ascot the in running comments are less about TDH running out of stamina than they are about him running out of pace.

"Took keen hold, chased leading trio, switched left and effort entering final 2f, closed and strong challenge under pressure 1f out, no extra and just outpaced well inside final furlong, lost 2nd close home (tchd 15/8 and tchd 9/4)"

After France ( which wasn't a strong race ) the pace is seemingly back for TDH, I don't buy the lack of stamina line from Gosden about his Ascot run. It's probable that Gosden has turned his season around the same way he did with Roaring Lion who looked well below the best as a 3yo until Gosden reignited him and turned him into a champ

Jesus he didn't do much right there and still got up.

The 3 year olds have to be the worst bunch ever, that's easiest mile you'll ever run and he barely got there

He's a lovely horse, but that's about it.

Incredible the way gosden had seen off the O'Brien battalion these last few years. Little doubt johhny G is top dog now.

Lot of word around Galway this week for that Cosmic Horizon in the 8pm. He's been very well backed too

    Any explanations for ilikethewayyourthinkings
Improved run, considering there was uproar on his 2nd last run when he was clearly given a stopping ride and still nearly won.
He showed up months later in a run of the mill handicap and must of been transported straight from his holiday field because he ran no race and then wins today with any amount in hand.
I actually had him in a lucky 15 but im still sour about the stopping ride a few runs ago when i also backed him.
I think a tony martin horse won that race and landed a bit of a gamble.

The Stewards requested a report from Gavin Cromwell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Ilikedwayurthinkin, placed first, as compared with its previous run at Naas 10th March where the animal finished last of seventeen finishers beaten fifty four lengths over two miles and three furlongs on yielding ground. Gavin Cromwell reported that his charge disappointed at Naas and no abnormality was found post race. As a consequence he was sent home to his owners premises where he was given a break of approximately two months. He added that on returning back into training his fitness was built up gradually. He felt that today the animal appreciated the longer trip, the good underfoot conditions and overall he had strengthened up over recent months. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
