Using tp-link AC1900 router for eir

I have the eir fibre bundle with TV etc.
The router they give you is the F2000 from Huawei and the wifi kept dropping. So, I bought a tp-link AC1900. It was pretty easy to set up for wifi and immediately started noticing much better speeds.

However, problem is to get it working with Eir TV.

In the F2000 set up there was an ethernet cable going into a power link adapter and then the TV pick it up from another powerlink adapter.

Here are my current TP-link settings:

    ISP_list: Eircom_VDSL
    VLAN ID: Enabled, 10

    Internet Connection Type: PPOE

IPTV was originally disabled. I enabled it and its settings are:
    DSL Modulation type: VDSL
    LAN Port: 1
    VLAN: Enable
    VLAN ID: 7 (I can't set this to 10)

    Any ideas?

    PPPoE prevents TV.

IPoE - IGMP snooping enabled, VID 10 as before. Should then work.

    Thanks ED E.

Ok so on the set up wizard, if I select Eircom_VDSL for the ISP, it makes me use PPPoE.

If I select "Other", I can set VLAN ID to 10. I am asked if I want MER enabled, I ignore this and I select
Dynamic IP as the Internet Connection Type (I presume this is correct. Other options are: Static IP and Bridge).

Again, this connects me to the internet and wifi works ok.
    However, TV still not working

    On IPTV settings are still:
    Enabled: true
DSL modulation type: VDSL (not ADSL)
    VLAN: Enabled
I can't select VLAN ID as 10 as it is already selected. So I just do 8.

    So my questions are:
    1. I can select VLAN ID in two places. One for Basic set up and one on IPTV.
But only one can be 10. Which one should it be?

    2. I don't see anywhere, I can set IPoE - IGMP snooping enabled. Any tips here?

    I meant proxying, not snooping.

Its something like that, I don't have TV from Eir to test.

Thanks. Looks like the console I have doesn't have that option.
I have the Archer VR900, AC1900 Wireless router. Any ideas?

Counterintuitively I think you may have to untick that "Enable IPTV" box. I think that is for systems that use a separate VLAN for IPTV which eir does not I believe.

IGMP proxy should be enabled under Network > Internet

Try that and see if it works.

Ok I disabled the IPTV - i.e. unticked the IPTV box.

    My settings are now...

Like ED E I don't have eir TV and I'm not that familiar with TP-Link routers. I think it's going to be a case of trial and error. Change one setting, try it, if it doesn't work change it back and try another setting.

The TV needs VLAN 10 as does the Internet. A different VLAN for TV will not work.

What version of the router are you using? It looks like V3 from your images. There are emulators on the TP-Link site but the V3 emulator does not have an IPTV setting so I'm not sure what you can or can't change under IPTV.

Try enabling the IPTV checkbox and if it is possible to have no alteration of VLAN.

ok folks got it working. Had to reset the Eir box and then bingo.

Great stuff! If you could give the working settings for future reference it would be useful.
