Identify this formation

    Hey!

    First time poster on this forum I just wanted to ask you knowledgeable people about these little clay formations that have started appearing around the windows at the back of the house. I've knocked two down already and inside them there appears to be little worms of some description and a larger grub. The back of the house gets pretty much all the sunshine if that would have any bearing on what these may be. I've tried attaching a couple of pics - I hope they work because I'd really like to know what these things are!

    Really? Are you sure? I've had a big nest of wasps around the house before - that one was actually at ground level in a mound of sods of grass but I've never seen these little clumps of clay before

    Maybe mason wasp nests? If they are, the wasps themselves are pretty harmless :).

    Wasps nest usually looks like it's made of paper.

    Look like larva at different levels of growth.

    No, but the one's people generally despise do.

    Maybe makes sense to watch it for a while before breaking it down and see what develops.

    I meant in terms of seeing how the larva develops.
