    Even when I have all notifications turned off for this this app, it still gives me notifications like sporting events. Is there a way to turn this of our will I just uninstall it and use the website.

    When you open an article that has live updates it automatically opts you in for push notifications "Important Events" . It's very annoying.

    The journal is owned by the same company as this two bob site.your not going to get anything upmarket from it .better off looking for a reputable news source app

    Not that I can find. You need to unselect it when you open an article.
