Given how far the last film managed to surpass expectations, perhaps it's not too surprising the sequel didn't quite manage to hit the same relative highs - but the movie was still a fantastically entertaining, solidly built piece of entertainment; Jake Kasdan clearly learned from his dad how to put together a good crowdpleaser. And it the sequel struggled, it was only because most of its cast had already completed their respective arcs of growth, instead spending the movie being frustrated that they were trapped once again. The Rock & Kevin Hart had the most fun here, as they got to personify the new, geriatric visitors to Jumanji and getting the biggest laughs as such. The franchise still remains one of the stronger Blockbuster series out there at the moment, and if the quality remains this high, then I'd be happy to return to the world a third (fourth?) time.

Hadn't seen the first film in this series bit went to see The Next Level today. A little long but it was really good fun with a good bit of laughter. Worth the trip to the cinema!

    I enjoyed it.
If you liked the previous reboot then you'd like this. Reboot is probably better than this but enjoyment to be had.
