I've been backing Enable in this race for the past few weeks. Right now it's around 15/8.

I won't back it anymore but I wouldn't be surprised if this started 5/4 or less on the day.

    What you backing ?

You could be right, it might be a piece of piss for Enable but she has never won over 10f. I'd be happy to take her on with Crystal Ocean if he runs there.

How much you have on? One euro a week for 5 weeks?

Its getting to the stage where almost every post son of goat makes is met with childish vitriol.he simply posted his fancy for the eclipse, what exactly is wrong with that? The number of people having a pop at him seem to be growing by the day

Are you working for the bookies also?

I have cousins mucking out at Newmarket and they have told me comprehensively to not back Enable for the Eclipse. She is being trained exclusively for the Arc this year and a late campaign. Given the modern ways that the vets are doping fillies for the big races she will be under a different program for the Eclipse. When was the last time Enable won over 10f's ?

2 days before the Irish Derby and the Goat is setting up the biggest lay of the summer, no thank you. The 15/8 AP price is garbage , she probably won't even run next week. The ground is set to be firm, given her niggles they are not going to risk her over 10f's on firm ground at Sandown. I doubt she runs at all.

You seem to be missing the point, whether enable wins the eclipse or not is irrelevent, its who he fancies and who he backed,it doesnt warrent the ridicule he is recieving

I am finding his posts slightly sinister to be honest. I suspect he is using multiple profiles for starters....

But the biggest issue is the coin flipping " dead certs" that he is advising people to back or lay. They are always in the top 2 of the betting 3 minutes before the off, I just do not get it. If he actually was getting info he would be lumping on, in fact he certainly would not be letting any of us mugs know they were trying. You wouldn't have the time.

I have said it time and time again, the quickest way to the poorhouse is backing favourites. Backing and laying favourites just gets you to the poorhouse twice as fast.

Enable has been smashed in the betting over the last few days. It will run

Smashed by how much? What price was she?

I don't think so. Given she is rated 125 which I believe is half a stone better off than the rest of them, apart from Crystal Ocean who might not run either . She gets a mares allowance. She hasn't been beaten in over two years , including 7 group 1's.

But you can get 15/8 , nearly 2/1 ? Really?

They don't need to run her on firm ground in the Eclipse. I reckon the King George on maybe softer ground and if that doesn't work they could prep her in the Yorkshire Oaks? The Arc has been the target all along.

I would be wary of AP movements for any of the Gosden runners. I have already seen purges on Calyx and 2DarnHot this year which cost punters money without even a run.

I would rather blow an AP bet on Hermosa at 16's or 20's than Enable at 15/8.

The field is down to 13.

    Enable 10/11
    Circus Maximus 4/1
    Magical. 4/1
    Regal Reality. 6/1
    Telecaster. 12/1
    Zabeel Prince. 14/1
    Addeybb. 16/1
    Mustashry. 16/1
    Flag of Honour. 50/1
    Hunting Horn. 50/1
    Danceteria. 66/1
    Knight To Behold. 66/1
    Magic Wand. 66/1

Both Enable and Magical are better over 12f but the uphill finish at Sandown will bring stamina into play in this tough 10f race. Gosden says that he is very happy with Enable but it will be a long time since she ran ( 245 days ). If Magical runs she's a very decent price to reverse placings with Enable.

Cirrus Maximus is heading the right way, a horse in form and all that. Not too wild about him.

Regal Reality, Zabeel Prince, Mustashry and Addeybb are all much of a muchness, all capable of picking up the pieces if the big ones don't perform.

I like Telecaster, he's a forgotten Dante winner and at the price it's worth giving him a chance to redeem himself after his Derby flop.

The 50/1 and 66/1 shots in the race are too good to be the prices they are and it's worth having a EW nibble at them.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 9,078 ✭✭✭IAMAMORON

I am not saying it wins but Regal Reality is definitely unexposed. The price is short enough also. Somebody somewhere has been having nibbles.

It was 33s into a general 14/1 just over a week ago. He's been well backed alright.

Hunting Horn will go close enough in that field. Loads of those are no where near good enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,702 ✭✭✭tryfix

    1. Dancetaria (Jamie Spencer) 50/1
    2. Hunting Horn 66/1
    3. Mustashry (Jim Crowley) 16/1
    4. Regal Reality (Kerrin McEvoy) 13/2
    5. Zabeel Prince (Andrea Atzeni) 20/1
    6. Enable (Frankie Dettori) 4/5
    7. Magical (Ryan Moore) 11/4
    8. Telecaster (Oisin Murphy) 12/1

Down to the final 8, if anything can beat those 2 fillies then they'll be catapulted into the big time.

That's probably why I got it at 80/1. I know nothing about horse racing, but I love it. As a matter of interest, why do you think it has no chance?

It’s the second Lowest rated in the field. One or two might have an off day but there are too many in there that are just better than him. At aged 4, he’s not going 10+ lbs to beat enable. Probably good for 6th or 7th place of the 8 runners

    100/1 now on Bet365!

Some craic if Beggy won it on Hunting Horn.

Telecaster at 14/1 is the value for me. Bombed the Derby, but I think it has excuses for that. The drop back down in trip and a much more straight forward course will suit this fella.

I am backing Regal Reality. I have bits of 7/1 , win only, all duck or no dinner. I can't believe how tight the price is considering what he has to beat and the level of improvement required. Somebody somewhere is backing him. His stable mate is twice the price and already has a Group 1. Kerrin McEvoy is never a negative.

3 year olds have a good record in the race 4 wins in the last 10 years. They get a half a stone of the fillies and 10lbs of the colts, this can't be ignored. That being the case I think Telecaster gets a couple of euro ew, just in case, he was disappointing in the Derby and the Dante form may turn out to be crap, but is the only 3 year old taking a chance, surprising really.

Means little when your 100/1 shot wins by half the track!

3:15 - Restorer at 33/1 looks just a little bit too big to me considering most bookies are paying out on a 5th place in this race. Only 1lb up from a distance win at Leicester a few runs back and more competitive on turf rather than AW, expecting better today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,018 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Sand 1:50 - Lots of unreliable types running in this one, and another in Garrus who is unexposed at this sort of level. I think if Muthmir comes anywhere near to previous form, then it beats this lot, has ground to suit, really no excuses. 6/1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,018 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Worst value of the day? All the Dettori rides are getting smashed in at the moment. Bookies will make a killing today I suspect on all these mug accumulators.

Is enable worth taking on today? If there's ever a time to do it surely it's first time up over this trip?

To be fair, he is riding very well at moment but yes those accums are mug bets. That said, think Rumbleinthejungle in 13.50 still great value at 7s

Apart from Enable I'll be having a few more bets.

Start off with a short price double, I think the 2 horses in questions are certs today.

1.35 Naas, Year Of The Tiger, around 1/2
1.40 Chelmsford, Oh Purple Reign around 8/13

    Can't see either getting beat.

I have the 2 of them in a treble with Enable too.

Good luck to anyone betting today.

You are very wrong, caspian prince has the best form in the lineup and would be the one to beat if he runs to a number of last seasons runs.
Worth noting caspian usually runs well after the epsom dash, last two seasons anyway.
He broke musselburgh track record off top weight in an ultra competitive handicap last term.
Should be spot on for this and he generally drifts in the betting so wouldnt worry if that happens.

I wasn't going to have a bet in the 2.15 @ chelmsford but that Celtic manor is between 9/1 and 10/1 on the exchange, I had a few bob e.w on it, the price is massive.

Enable just wins today. Even with the long lay off and no prep race. She is just too good.

Not sure what more she could have done.

That was lovely and a nice calm ride from Frankie never panicked just showed her the whip and she done the rest. She will be hard to beat in the Arc again.

Thats a real shock result, considering some guy on here has 2 cousins who muck out at newmarket advising people not to back enable.

Most likely but it's a poor bunch around, she isn't vastly superior to magical in all known running

She was never going to go away from them in massively impressive fashion after a lay off, I’d say she will come on lots for that run.
