Training hard and my immune system

For the last year or so I've been training harder - I also seem to be catching more colds. I'm fighting the 4th one since Xmas - it's mild but still.
Apart from a multi vit - what should I be taking?

Before you look at supplements, look at your diet, sleep and recovery.

I'm not being glib...they generally are areas that people need to make sure they're on top of long before even considering a supplement.

    Thanks for the reply.
Sleep is alright - I'd get a solid 6.5 to 7.5 most nights - never really less than that though. Can't say I get more than 8 - thats just my body clock.

Diet has actually been more on point in the period where I've had most illness tbh. I'm not saying I'm eating like a cover model but its pretty good I think.

Recovery - not sure what you mean exactly. I don't do anything for active recovery lets put it that way. I'm not going to the sauna or doing yoga but I would have 1, if not 2 non-training days.

I don't know your full diet but I don't need to. Just flagging it. You should be getting the vast majority of anything in a multivitamin I'm your diet.

Recovery is tied in with training. Is 'hard' too hard for the recovery you have? It isn't about doing anything special but having enough recovery that you're not accumulating too much fatigue that it's draining you too much

Your body, and your immune system, may need more than the 6.5 to 7.5 hours than you are getting. If I were you, I would increase how much sleep you get (keep a 'sleep diary' just to track it) and see if you feel any better from it. Sleep is the best recovery tool that we have. Better than any supplement or vitamin.

That's good, are you getting enough calories in? Do you track macros and micros? Do you take days off for rest?
