Hello lads, I volunteer with the order of Malta in sligo and there's talks about setting up a CFR group in sligo, I was wondering how would this be set up? I live in the ballisodare area and I wanna set one up here, is it also possible to do it solo? Thanks lads

The CFR Groups are run in conjunction with the National Ambulance Service. They have a dedicated person to help you. All the info is here along with his email address. AFAIK you might be a CFR Advanced with OMAC but you can only practice as a CFR Community in this program. Good Luck.

Have you thought about setting up an Order of Malta CFR group.

Wasnt this an idea floated nationally in recent years??

In essence you would benefit from the existing presence and reputation of OMAC , could self train, share resources and attract more members into the ambulance corps in sligo indirectly

It is a very good idea, my Officer in Charge was talking about it to me at one stage but he said its still far from being set up, and our base is like half a mile from the hospital so I don't know how useful we would be

You wouldn't be operating from your ambulance base you would be a CFR group extension of your unit providing CFR interventions only
