Can't say I'm looking forward to this tomorrow, usually a pretty dull race and Mercedes have the beating of Ferrari as usual. Long run down to turn 1, I expect Hamilton to do one up the inside and another Merc 1-2 snoozefest.

At least with such low expectations I might stand a chance at being surprised.

The one chance Max, Seb and LeClerc have is at the start getting a good slipstream down the long straight

That would be great, but short lived.
The Mercs will regain their positions during the pitstops. The only "action" at the front (if any) might be the Mercs swapping places or Max swapping with Vettel.

Haha, Neymar didn't have a clue what Brundle and Button were saying to him!

Ya, I felt sorry for him. Seemed a bit uncomfortable taking the questions.
He was caught off guard, haha

Grandstand looking very sparsely populated 10 min before the start

    And that's a wrap folks

Hamilton in front, Vettel mistake. Groundhog day

Safety Car is badly needed! Where's Grosjean or Kvyat

Ferrari ruining their own race, need to swap their drivers around.

Good to see ferraris fighting a bit
    Bit silly though
Vettel was never great with team orders

2 laps too late for Ferrari

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,937 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

Hope it's not, but looks to be game over

Good to see redbull go for two stop

Nice move from Kvyat on Kimi, the commentators got it wrong on Sky

Vettel and Leclerc are on different strategies, wtf are Ferrari doing?! Get on the radio and tell Leclerc to move over, they are completely inept at even basic strategy calls

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,855 ✭✭✭Grim.

Ferrari truly are the most inept team on the grid when it comes to strategy

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,623 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Christ on a flaming bike, one race engineer thought they were on the same strategy and the other didn't. It took them all those laps to figure out...... how utterly incompetent that is for a top team. And this is exactly why Mercedes will win the championship again this year

Stand on main straight looks very empty.

Stands around the circuit look fairly empty too.

Might wake Liberty up to how crap this is

It's the reason why this will be gone next season. The stand that is filled to the brim with Dutch fans in orange shirts at every race is why we're off to Zandvoort instead.

Safety car, so this might liven it up a bit

    Safety Car

This is rubbish. The fact that you have to rely on a safety car to inject some excitement and actual competition. Although I'm of the opinion even a safety car can't salvage this now. I feel like I am not watching a race, I'm just watching cars go round in circles :(. Over two thirds of the way through the race and only 4 pages on this thread says it all really.

LeClerc almost caught napping on the restart.

This hybrid era has damaged F1 badly, when Ferrari dominated the early 00’s there were rule changes that put a stop to it, all the rule changes here have done is helped Mercedes

Dire, absolutely dire altogether. Imagine showing that race to a prospective fan to get them involved in watching, they'd run an absolute mile, and rightly so.

  • Registered Users Posts: 30,061 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Safety car sort of neutralised things at the front

Pity Ferrari are so far away from challenging

What was there to neutralise?

Bah, no idea what the prancing horse is at and neither do they . Hamilton and co will keep pulling away with easy till they get there heads sorted...the result is meaningless really now.

Shout out to Dani Kyvatt , has to be driver of the day . Even if sky and their comments kept missing what he was doing. Toro Rosso didnt look half bad as a car either today .

Done and dusted on lap 1, Ferrari are depressing to watch at this stage
