The irish squad and injuries leaves leinster looking pretty thin

    dooley(injured)/milne
    cronin/ sheehan(injured)
    Bent/Clarkson/parker
    toner
    fardy
    rudock
    penny
    8?

    luke
    10 ?

    tommy obrien
    oloughlin
    jimmy obrien
    11(?)

    Kelleher

academy lads will get plenty of chances potentially

All the players selected for Ireland are available this weekend afaik.

As for restrictions. I think they're all part of the same bubble etc so could come back in as required.

Think we will see a mixture of youth and experience with the higher profile guys missing out.

Ruddock at 8, Josh Murphy at 6, Frawley at 10 if he pulls through the RTP protocols.

I think nearly all of the covid issues in the Irish squads have come through academy players, they probably are more exposed to people outside the rugby bubble for various reasons, so I’d imagine it’s easier for the internationals to move back and forth as they are probably very limited in their contacts.

I heard the Ireland players will be in a pretty tight bubble for the duration of Ireland duty. Hard to see how they can let fringe squad members back to provinces if they claim it's a tight bubble.

The players aren't in Ireland camp yet though as far as i know. They were just announced so this weekend is business as usual.

    Is Deegan injured?

He injured his knee last week and was due for further scans this week.

    Is Deegan injured?

Yeah injured last weekend shortly after coming on. Think it was his knee.

Think there's a leadership group with a few different players in it I think.

Henshaw was very few Leinster caps for the length of time he's been here. Level with James Lowe who joined a season after.

He's had a few lengthy injury layoffs in fairness. Last season was the longest run of fitness he's had in years.

Between his pec tear after the lions, the shoulder dislocation, the mysterious dead leg that kept him out for months and whatever other issues he's had would have taken a good chunk of minutes.

Add the fact that there hasn't been and Ireland squad/ camp he hasn't been picked for when he's fit in the last 5 years.

48 games in 2.5 seasons is almost 20 games a season......

Keep in mind Lowe's availability was heavily impacted by the foreign player limitation with JGP and Fardy for 2 years.

Given Frawley's rise as a viable option at 12, would there be benefit to looking at Henshaw at 15? I think his best position is 13, but given Ringrose is ever present there, there's a case of getting your best players on the pitch, plus Frawley offers options as distributor that Henshaw doesn't at 12.

Always thought he was very good there for Connacht.

Bent is going to skew that exercise of yours. Given the lack of tight heads we have available this season he is going to feature heavily.

Not really. It's the average no. of U23 players starting in league matches over the season I'm interested in, not the average age of the starting XV. Including the number of older players starting is more of an afterthought really.

Tbh it didn't look like the Treviso player was looking to win the ball on the deck. Thought the interpretations had changed so that they didn't award penalties for merely avoiding the carrier from releasing.

Connors banged his knee there. He's back on but doesn't very comfortable.
