Judging by his posting history, I doubt we'll hear from him again.
He's just a fekking tease, showing us his hole and then not letting us into it.

Maybe we should get to know him first, maybe take him out for a meal??

Ok. Part of me wishes I could report I spent the evening exploring the labryinth:

but as it happens, I spent the evening outside carrying on with the digging. Just inside.

Turns out cruizer101 called it with:

Edit to add: At a guess I'd say there is nothing under them, they were put there as a bit of a path and at some point topsoil or a new grass sod was being added to the garden and whoever was doing it wasn't arsed digging them out, still wouldn't stop me trying to lift them mind.

When the spade was bouncing off the concrete yesterday evening was convinced it was a solid structure. Relieved it wasn't... Sorry for false alarm lads, but at least the project can carry on.

    Following up on a question:
Also - what stops your trampoline pit filling with water? I assume you need to run a drain from it?

I'm half toying with the idea, they look great when finished (in reality though I'm probably too lazy to dig the hole!)

I'm hoping that isn't needed. Friends with them say theirs don't fill up, so am hoping the drainage is good enough.

And judging by recent posts looks like my late post caused some upset - certainly that wasn't intended - appreciated input from others... didn't get home until 8:30pm then spent a couple of hours digging.

You could have just made something up. I'm off to bed in a foul humour now.

    Thanks for nothing OP.

Thanks Devison for reporting on the final dig. A bit disappointed it wasn't a door into another world :-)

Generally the simplest explanation is often the right one, but sadly bit disappointing in this case.

After digging the hole get the hose out and put a decent bit of water in it and see how quick it drains, it should give you a good idea of how well your soil drains and if you need to be concerned.

Also after you OP I was curious and did a bit of googling about trampolines in holes and it is recommended to have some vents to allow the air to escape as you bounce up and down as otherwise it can dampen the bounce and thus dampen the fun.

I'd leave the concrete there under the trampoline to help soften the bounce!

If it doesn't drain, sure he can carry on and have a swimming pool instead :)
