sky q in an apt block

    hi
    can i ask if its possible to get sky q in an apartment block with an existing system.
    the system was installed approx 15 years ago, there are 2 master dishes
    one for astra 2 and one for astra 1
    these are fed to a 9 input multi switch with 2 coaxial cables going to each apartment,
    would the whole system have to be changed
    fitting a separate dish for one apartment is not really an option
    thanks.

    A SkyQ compatible dSCR multiswitch will be required, this can feed the 12 tuner SkyQ receiver via a single cable. They are also backwards compatible with other Sky and legacy receivers.

    Not sure if there is a 2 satellite (9x?) version available. Adding a 4x? dSCR multiswitch would lose the flexibility of switching between the 2 satellites and I assume some apartments will want access to Astra 1.

    Are there FTA channels normally available from such coax cables?
    I expect you get nothing at all unless signed up to some subscription service.

    Never having lived in such an apartment I have no experience so just wondering ....

    Depends on how the management company manages such a system, some I believe are only available if you subscribe to Sky, the one above has 2 dishes in the installation pointing at 2 satellite positions.
