Joining Boards.ie to chat to fans of my football team

Hello. I don't know if I started a thread in the right section but anyway, I joined boards to chat sh!t to Irish Spurs fans in the soccer forum.
Im a Spurs fan. A football fan.
It seems though I cant join unless I have 50 posts on the site. Am I right & why is this?

I've posted an opinion in the "Will you vote" thread and the "Two nineteen election hotties" thread, but I deleted that one.

Do I really have to make comments in threads such as:
•Socks getting lost in my house
    •Do you miss Gerry Ryan
    •Cancer FM etc etc..
Just to name a few, to be able to talk about football?

If so, I can't do it.
But I think its a load of crap on a forum that talks about my team, that I can't contribute to the chat unless I make a heap of sh1tposts in other random threads, just to get on the soccer part.

Just had to vent there as I feel its weird that new members can't talk about football. No offence. Cheers.

In addition to the 50 post minimum, you also need to have been a member of the site for 1 month before you can apply for access to the Soccer forum. The reason for these restrictions can be found here. You also need to read this before applying for access.

    Thanks for the clarity.
I'll delete my account and find another forum.

    Peace.
