CEO John Petrie saying on Twitter more to follow this week!

Munster had to bring a sub academy player in and Patterson from Leinster as cover at 9.

How dare Ulster not give Alby back to us. How very dare them.

You can have Shanahan and like it.

Especially since I've just spotted KOTH on T'Other Forum saying Cooney's going nowhere...

And I don't just mean in an Ireland context.

    Poor form.

It is forum policy that, should you make a simple mistake whilst scrolling, you must indignantly refuse to acknowledge it and double down instead.

    Up your game, Squidgy.

The Cooney rumour always seemed a bit odd to me, but good to hear.

Glad to see all those announcements today...all four are players we want to keep around.

Who else is left to contract...famous last words but I expect Hendy is a formality.

Launish, looks like you are close to figuring out KOTH's cryptic clues!

Aye Luke Jones, though he would be a replacement more so for Carter? Be a bit like Fardy type signing covers blindside/lock.

Guessing announcement is coming this week if KOTH is upping the clues.

    Clues so far
The were racing through the contracts today. I’m guessing there will be more this week.
Any chance of a South African or New Zealander?
    no
The state of the academy for backs is frightening ,the amount of golden boys coming through is second to none. Addison and Gilroy are the ‘elders’ and they were only born in 1992, not even 30 yet. They should be in their prime but just can’t seem to stay injury free.

Don’t know about the NIQs, terrible year to be a professional rugby player negotiating contracts. All three of them have contracts up and I just don’t see ulster or any other club offering big contracts.

Marcell is the big one to replace obviously but consider this. Will Hendy get a central contract? Will the Marcell money be used to offer him something if he doesn’t

There was another clue about bee’s but can’t find it.

    It's not Luke Jones.

That’s the quote, someone throwing around Leone Nakarawa:
If not NZ/SA, Leone Nakarawa - ex-Racing, Fijian international, can play lock / blindside, seemingly is a Christian and most importantly he is out of contract in June. Maybe Mata was the wrong Scottish Fijian :stir:

He is also an Olympic Gold medalist

Not a bad shout, though Glasgow literally have no one left if that’s the case.

I'm not getting the Nakawara connection to that clue...am I missing something obvious?

Probably wants to play with Lowry rather than against him.

    Clues:
    Racing (previously played with Metro)
Not a saffer or New Zealander
    Holy (religious)
Went looking for Mata found Nakawara
    Golden (Olympic gold)

Does tick a lot of boxes, though is 32.

John Andrew signed up 2023. Really has upped his game this last season.

whats the "honey / bees" connection to Nakawara ?

They went in search of honey (Mata) and found bees?

Part of me wonders does this allude to a less well known back row coming as well as Nakawara.

We need 2 backrowers/2nd rowers and a prop.

Has been a really good player for us. I couldn't deal with the Provincial grief of suggesting it, but if Munster fans think Kevin O'Byrne should be getting a cap...

Thats the one I'm struggling with. The gold medal at the Olympics is a stretch, but could be it I suppose. I can't think of anyone else who fits the bill so its probably right.

Is it maybe a case of that clue was linked to our back row replacement and Nakawara is additional.

    Kunavalu maybe?

Went looking for Mata at Edinburgh but found someone else instead? Kunavalu plays lock and back row.

Andrew gas been great.could possibly get a call up for Ireland. He really has stepped up. McBurney though, has been disappointing. He's way down the depth chart now. Maybe a move would suit him?
