Really sad and disgusting this. Horrible, unnecessary deaths. Can't just blanket blame all Muslims though. It's only a certain section of psychos. For example, British armed forces committed several major atrocities far worse than this, were all protestants blamed? Was every British person blamed? Same situation here.

There are plenty who believe all protestants or English people are to blame.

Not that I agree but it's just a fact.

He is right. If a true Muslim was to follow the teachings to it's full extent, more of this would be happening. Thankfully the majority of Muslims understand the meaning of tolerance and just pity us for not believing rather than attack us.

I live in a predominantly Muslim country, my boyfriend is technically a Muslim but really an atheist. ( I say technically coz as an ethnic Malay he HAS to be a Muslim but he doesn't practice, just pretends so he isn't jailed!) He says that technically these bombers are doing the work of Allah and will see it as such. As I say though, thankfully the majority don't want to harm others and are happy to live side by side with us infidels.

I spent some time 2 years ago in Sri Lanka and have some Lanken friends. This hits hard. Such a beautiful country, amazing, kind, sweet people. It's just awful.

There are two Saudi Arabian Airlines cabin crew missing, so it's not as if they only attacked non-Muslims.

Stupid. No one suggested they weren't. Other Muslims are the main victims of radical Islam.
But that doesn't mean they have the right to attack other groups.

The problem of radical Islam needs to be clearly identified, and dealt with in various ways (e.g. not just military crack-downs, looking long-term also at stopping or reforming how the Gulf States/Saudi's fund their version of Islam around the world).

The nature of these attacks have meant whole or substantial chunks of families have been killed. It's so cruel. I have no idea how that poor poor man from the UK who lost his wife and his two children can ever recover. Sadly he won't be alone, there will be many other similar stories.

These bombings are sponsored by extremists outside Sri Lanka, but it is the local Muslim community that will suffer as a consequence.

White extremist kills muslims, it is awful for the poor muslims.
It is the awful white extremists, anti muslim islamophobes right wingers fault.

Muslim extremists slaughter predominantly christians and westerners, it is awful for the muslims.
It is the fault of tiny tiny minority and foreigners.

FFS does anyone ever notice the double standards?

A very uneducated post. A people who want to kill will do so, they will find a motive. In fact they feed off people believing and saying what you just said there because it furthers the divide between Muslim, Christian, Jew, Buddhist etc etc and that is exactly what they want - all out mayhem.

Do you ever stop to wonder why islam is now producing so many of these people who just want to kill, and not just kill but slaughter everyone and anyone ?

I remember one poster around here claiming muslim countries were equally as free as Western secular predominantly christian ones.
And the country you speak of being used as a prime example of this.

What is your definition of majority here?
The proportion of muslims throughout the world that would tacitly support these attackers is actually quite scary.

There is something toxic in islam and it time people faced up to it.

And that includes the people in countries that tolerate their governments doing business with the states that are the ones most responsible for spreading this toxicity.

RIP to the victims and especially to the likes of that Danish family that lost three of their children.

its the bigotry of low expectations. people expect Muslim extremists to conduct terrorism. the reason Christchurch got such publicity was not because Muslims got killed in New Zealand, it was because they were killed by a white westerner.

Of course, there is original sin attached to being white and going bad stuff, while if you are brown skinned and do bad stuff, its because of some white westerns ****ed up their country first, or something to that effect.

Reckon that's a bit of a cop-out, can't see something like this being organised in 5 weeks or whatever its been. Surely something this organised would take months?

More likely New Zealand will simply be used as an excuse by the attackers.

Actually that term is the craven shyte that has permeated out of the US where we have an ex president and ex secretary of state/presidential candidate refusing to actually use the word christian for fear of or antagonising the modern very vocal groups that are all about inclusivity and tolerance.
Except really they mean only tolerance of their ideas and ideals.

It is the same shyte that gets the happy holidays mullarkey.
BTW that might be something you say to someone going off on their summer holidays.

And that shyte is now being pedaled wholesale here.

Instead of just setting straight the ills and discrimination of our old societies we are going towards punishing any group or sector not once discriminated against.

And also watch who are proposing removing history as mandatory subject from our school curriculums. It will be the very ones that will try then convince the young their twitter 128 character snapshot version of history is correct.

Any news report I saw mentioned they were at easter services and that's because easter has a bigger turn out in comparison to regular services and the terrorists knew this. That's why it's relevant.

    Bigoted blarney. It works both ways;

It's called decency and courtesy. Why should Jews or First nations or any other non-christian demographic have to put up with Christian sh*te? Happy Holidays covers all and doesn't assume your are Christian or put that on you.
You'll find it's the 'save christmas' fox brigade looking to censor history.

Here's your conspiracy sh*te right here.
    .[/

You can argue the meaning, or lack of meaning, behind the use of language by Hilary Obama and others about both atrocities.

But it is fact not theory, that when the horrendous murders occoured in NZ, those murders were called exactly what they were using the proper terms ‘Muslims’ ‘Islam’
And when the horrendous murders in Sri Lanka happened the term ‘Easter worshipers ‘ was coined and ‘Christian’ was not used.

Christian "shyte"? But everyone is aware when it's Christmas. That comes across as pretty mean-spirited. Would you talk about Muslim shyte or Jewish shyte? I am not religious but you're talking about decency and courtesy - why can't you afford the same to a Christian festival? (And it's still inclusive to non Christians or to atheists).

nah it is just the typical p*ss all over anything christian, particularly catholic, but don't you dare say anything bad about you know who.

Jews have also been thrown under the bus as after all, Israel.

Easter is specifically Christian! Does one even have to qualify 'Easter' with the word 'Christian '? ! The whole basis of Christianity rests on Easter.

    .I already posted screen shots

Also if you google Easter worshipers there’s pages of news stories relating to the use of the term.

If someone called the people shot in Christchurch black stone worshippers, people would have known.

It would still have marked one out as a pompous prick.

Not at all an accurate comparison.

An accurate comparison would've been calling them 'friday worshippers' - which to be fair they often are called that!

Anyway is this really a relevant topic? 300+ people are blown to bits and we're talking about a term some papers did or didn't use? Talk about missing the point
