anyone able to do a password change and email change on the ledger live?
    Is this even possible?

There is no account with Ledger to use Ledger Live.

The new nano ledger pack. This looks essential

Ive been in crypto for a few years now and I honestly never understood what those things are for, well I do but I dont understand their advantages over the more obvious alternatives, especially since you have to save the keys yourself anyway.

Safest way ordering these is probably through parcel motel now

I had a good look at the list and what surprised me was the amount of people who didnt do this in the first place and even more surprising the amount who sent the package to their workplace. That could have much more personal consequences for people already in a pickle

There will be a number of tax authorities looking to speak to people on that list too.

I don’t think tax authorities should be their main worry. Having purchased the device doesn’t mean people have realised taxable gains.

Tax authorities could issue letters to those people reminding them that if they own crypto and dispose of it, they need to file a tax return for CGT purposes (which law abiding holders would have done anyway). But beyond that I don’t think there is more they could/would do?

From the perspective of tax authorities, something more interesting would be a log of sell transactions from an exchange (they could cross-reference large sell orders with CGT payments and flag people who disposed of assets without notifying their tax authority).

It depends where they live and how much (if any) profit has been made and undeclared over time. Being caught for unpaid back taxes with the threat of prison time may be more of a threat than rubber-hose attacks to a few people featured.

Sure, obviously if someone defrauded tax authorities there will be consequences (and rightly so).

But as I said, having purchased an electronic device from a company doesn’t really mean much to those tax authorities and doesn’t trigger tax liabilities. What was leaked is not a collection of Cayman Islands bank account details or a list actual crypto transactions which would trigger tax liabilities. What would Revenue do about Irish residents on the list? (being on the list doesn’t in any way mean they have defrauded the taxman, and auditing all of them just because they are on the list would be very costly and a long shot in terms of what they could find vs spending the same amount to audit people who live in the most expensive postcodes in the country).

2nd ledger phising email in as many weeks

    keep deleting them

I personally think that if a "hardened" criminal got his hands on that list and decided to target a house, then whats the outcome?

"Hey bud, gimme your ledger thingy"

So they take a chance to rob someone for something they havent a clue what value is on it and if they can even get the keys

If they wanted to rob someone for an easier job, then surely they would just ask for the car keys

Depends upon a number of factors?
How many Irish residents are on the list? How many of them are recorded as having paid CGT on crypto in the past?
Do they need a few sacrificial lambs to justify boosting the crypto task force budget after being mocked about it here on boards?

Its the usual issue - if you live somewhere nice, you will be a bigger target for people looking to rob you. Not much change there pre-leak.

The top 10 exchanges can give them all the data they need should they decide to do a themed audit. They're in the compliance world - they'll comply with requests to ensure their own survival.
Therefore, for them the list is not all that interesting. Someone not having submitted a tax return (or crypto related declaration) but on the list -isn't all that juicy for them. Perhaps they bought a ledger and lost money, or they have yet to realise a gain or they bought one and never used it or they bought one to get a family member set up.
It's very much of interest to hackers though as it gives them a head start in terms of the data they need to execute a successful attack.

Genuine question - what happens if Ledger does stop existing as a company?

I know your coins aren’t on the ledger, only the private keys, but will you be able to use your ledger to access your crypto from other sources if the company folds? Might be a noob question but curious of the outcome if things go south.

Never owned a ledger but so long as it generates a 12 or 24 seed phrase and you know that then you can load the utxos into any other wallet

Yes correct. Ledger is using BIP-39 seed phrases, so the keys can be restored to any BIP-39 compliant hardware or software wallet (for exemple Trezor ones).

Would seem appropriate that the 25th would be the day we see 25! Nice Christmas present for everyone.

    Tfuel approaching 2.5c

Would love to see Theta take the top 20 on the same day Tron drops out

Looks like it hit exactly 25 just after 3am our time. I guess it was still the 25th west of us so that counts right!

CRO gone from the top 20
    Theta into #19
Has a bit to go before it will move into #18 and go past TRON

Tfuel had another good 24hrs, not far off top 80

I'd like to see ZIL 8c by NY eve

I'm waiting for link to make a move.
A move towards $20 would be fantastic.

It's much more noticeable in this bull that the "main" ALTs aren't pumping to their previous ATH's.
Bitcoin has broken a lot of the chains that bound ALTs to it on this particular run IMO.

I’m starting to think Crypto.com don’t want CRO to rise too much.

In the past couple of months, pretty much everything they did had predictable negative impacts on the price.
