Gmail app question

I updated the gmail app on my iphone 6 on the weekend. I've noticed that two emails in my 'primary' section have a spinning blue wheel around the letter symbol next to their name. When I go to sent messages, the two sent messages that I sent to those people last night have the spinning wheel around them. Does anyone know…

I updated the gmail app on my iphone 6 on the weekend. I've noticed that two emails in my 'primary' section have a spinning blue wheel around the letter symbol next to their name. When I go to sent messages, the two sent messages that I sent to those people last night have the spinning wheel around them. Does anyone know why I have this spinning symbol and if those emails i sent last night have actually been sent?
