I tend to be more of a behavior addict than a substance one. Video games used to be the main one (kicked it, but still on the waggon so to speak...)

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Judo, running, reading and motorbikes.

You sure they aren’t hobbies, dude?

Like you aren’t likely to go, ‘Jesus, I won’t be able to cope if I don’t get my judo fix in the morning’.

I’m addictided to buying caps and hats! As long as it has the new era logo I have to have it! I bought 4 in the last week that I don’t even need! Mostly NFL!

Coffee and tea. I can drink either at anytime day or night. Neither keep me awake at night as I drink both so much that I’ve become immune to that effect..

I’m also addicted to Netflix, I can spend ages browsing netflix before choosing something, I then binge watch series! It has left me that I don’t even walk 2 miles a day anymore!

The phone/social media, I’ve set updates to let me know, how much screen time I’ve had each week. Every single notification has informed me that my screw time has been more and more each week.

Tattoos is my latest addiction, got my first one several weeks ago and I’m now looking at getting my second tattoo, when my first isn’t even fully finished.

Withdrawing money from the atm has become extremely satisfying, even if I only carry it around in my wallet after for weeks on end..

I used to smoke so much weed. I really enjoyed the out of body experience and it helped me forget my problems and worries for a while. But now I just try to deal with my problems..

I used to be addicted to smoking cigarettes, but quit a year and a half ago!

    I'd say tea for me.

I drink a good few cups a day. If i'm thirsty I'll make tea. if i've a job to do, i'll make a cup of tea before I start.
sometimes I feel sick from drinking so much, and yet i'll still go and drink more.
it really annoys me. I've tried not buying tea bags when I run out, but it doesn't last long and then i'll go drink a stupid amount, so it's not worth it:D

I don't even think I like the taste of tea!
it's more about having a hot drink

But yeah im addicted to staying up late. Just something about the night relaxes me

Me too, there is something very relaxing and de-stressing about the early AM like now. Time and space and quiet to plan the day and week ahead as well as thinking and making plans for further down the track in life... clear headspace that you don’t get afforded often during daylight hours with all the other distractions and demands on your time. Or you could just be fûcking about on boards.

No they're not hobbies. I live and breath Judo, and if I can't get out for a run I get very stressed. I can't stand the thought of a day when I can't do both. Judo more or less defines me, everyone know's me and associates me with Judo.. My avatar here, that's me fighting in blue.

I love the feel of getting my Judo gear ready, and putting it on. If I have a poor training night I'm chomping at the bit for another go. I love getting bloodied and bruised, it makes me feel alive.

Running is a fix. Obviously I'm not pitted against anyone, I don't race. Its a lonely individual addiction for me, but its my head space too.

Reading, well I can't go to sleep without a read. Its a sub for sleeping pill's my GP would rather I take.

    Motorbikes, I'm a biker.

I'm guessing you don't have a passion which makes you feel alive.

I’ve loads of passions, my friend. I’m able to differentiate a passion/hobby from an addiction though. Now the large coffee and Marlboro red I just had - that’s an addiction. Watching Liverpool yesterday- that’s a hobby.

The man needs to add the dictionary to his nightly book reading addiction. Might twig then what the difference between and hobby and an addiction is then. Far as I can tell he's addicted to talking tarmac alright.

I hate the lad down the pub who takes whatever you said and tries to turn it into a humblebrag because they just want to talk about what they want to talk about.

    “I’m addicted to meth Johnny.”
“Yeah I totally get what you mean there. I’m addicted to being an amazing father to my two beautiful children. So same, basically.”

    Golf.

Honestly it's the most brilliantly infuriating thing ever. It's something which cannot be perfected. I know I'm addicted because I get restless if I go any period of time without doing something golf related. It might be putting on an indoor mat or pitching in the back yard. I need to have it. I could sit and watch golf all day long. You even spend serious money chasing after improvement (coaching, equipment, trackman radar sessions) and there is always a nagging sense that you can (or need) to get better. People look at Padraig Harrington after winning 3 majors and shake their heads watching him struggle on to 'improve' despite reaching the pinnacle of the game winning major titles. Only an addicted golfer can empathise as they understand the torment.

Whenever I go to the driving range the childlike thrill of driving there feels like going down the stairs on Christmas morning. I find that when I am hitting the ball well I feel euphoric, contented and happy and when I'm off it's the opposite, a dysphoria where I get antsy, pissed off and go back again and again until I get an acceptable control of the ball. I used to be a good golfer (low handicap) through my 20's but I regressed and am slowly getting back to the game opening up those old wounds which I'm more than happy to heal.

On the home course, a two minute drive from home, with the weather getting better, I typically go and play the course teeing off in the late afternoon and I play two balls from the tee and practice 'match play' against myself. There is nothing better to me than playing alone on a summers evening, the course to myself, hitting the ball firmly, crisply and precisely sending it where I need to with fleeting control. That's the addiction. There is something very spiritual about that for me.

What other people may find in poetry or art museums, I find in the flight of a good drive - Arnold Palmer

I would call that a healthy obsession, more so than an addiction. That's perhaps being pedantic, however, yet it doesn't seem harmful to yourself or anyone around you.

Listened to this podcast recently around addiction (mainly drug addiction) and how we mishandle it from the war on drugs onwards. One of the more fascinating discussions I've listened to in a long, long while.

    Coffee as well.
Drink it every day. I tried to quit it completely because I was having difficulty sleeping and the first day I attempted to go without it I realised that I was addicted.

Another coffee head and internet slug, here - could be worse.
I'm inclined to get very addicted to anything I like - even songs.
