After the not too shabby Australia race, if you stayed awake, let’s have a race at far nicer times. Will Ferrari bounce back? Will Red Bull close further in?

All sessions on Sky F1, the Online Service and tbc
    Friday, Free Practice 1, 12:00-13:30
    Friday, FP2, 16:00-17:30
    Saturday, FP3, 13:00-14:00
    Saturday, Qualifying, 16:00-17:00
    Sunday, Race, 16:10-18:10

    Predictions:
    Ferrari Win
    Honda podium
    Double Haas points
    No Williamspoints

Slight correction needed on the times - just the race is down as correct, all other times are an hour earlier.

    https://www.formula1.com/en/racing/2019/Bahrain.html

I know the clocks do jump forward on Sunday morning but the race start time is still 16:10 - so all is good there.

I was wondering now for summer time too, as it is shown in my calendar for those times. Thanks for letting us know.

That's interesting. Did they show many races on Sky 1 last year?

Most of the ones that were on Channel 4 anyway.

    This too shall pass.

Anybody seen the FP1 times ?

Ferrari a second ahead of Mercedes, they must have been testing some new parts

^ That's an impressive piece of kit there.

Not much in the highlights on YouTube , only to say under lights the Toro Rosso looks awesome

I disagree. I thought there was a lot that happened in both FP1 and FP2.

Interesting comment there by Rosberg on Sky.

Said that one of the team principals has said that the Ferrari smells different this weekend, hinting that they might be burning oil again.

Q1 now in progress: showing on Sky One too, for those of us who don't have the pay channels. Not much happening on the track. Crosswind means Kubica is struggling to stay on the track.

Something so weird about seeing Alonso standing on the pit wall wearing slacks while the F1 cars are whizzing past.

Elsewhere, the cars do look great under the floodlights

Norris nearly into the back of Grosjean there.

Grosjean you absolute clown. Practically parked on the racing line, if Norris locked his breaks that would have been a massive accident. That deserves a penalty

3rd to 18th separated by a second, that's pretty close by today's standards. KMAG and Verstappen gambling by not being on track

    Jesus, Hülk out in Q1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,904 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

2 cars miss out by 7 hundredths of a second. That's the finest of margins. Great lap from Norris

Norris looking impressive this year. Good driver and good car I wonder?

    LeClerc is looking extremely promising!

I think he's a talented driver, looks naturally quick but Sainz is right with him so the car must be well balanced. Think Mclaren have put a decent car together

Bahrain is the scene of his best F2 performance a couple of seasons ago. I think he will snatch pole today

Gasly out in Q2 and Verstappen slower than a Haas and a Mclaren. How long until Red Bull blame Honda and/or replace Gasly with Albon and/or Kvyat

I'd like to see Kvyat up against Verstappen in Red bull.

Gasly won’t last the season in the Red Bull. I don’t see a repeat of his 2018 performance in Bahrain.

As much as I never liked McLaren, it's great to see them getting back up there.

Haha, LeClerc just matched Seb's track record from last year.

I hope he gets a good start tomorrow to make it as hard as possible for Ferrari to play team orders games

And I won a fiver on him for a little 3 euro bet :)

2 laps good enough for pole. That's the way to take pole against 4 time world champ in your second race!

Hopefully he doesn't go too far down that Nigel Mansell route - especially given what happened the last time Ferrari had to make a call on their #1 driver status!

He was great on Ch4 because he was the "boring one" so he made more sense. Being an addition to all the other boring ones means his expertise is lost!

Hard to know what to make of Red Bull right now. Max was very competitive in Melbourne but the Ferrari was underperforming and Hamilton had some damage. Obviously Gasly struggled after the mess in qualifying but I was surprised he couldn’t pass the toro rosso on fresh soft tyres.

This weekend they look to be struggling. Poor from Gasly but luckily Max put in a strong lap right at the end to get 5th.

Be interesting to see how they go tomorrow.

Also good to see Bottas and Leclerc competing instead of the usual Hamilton/ Vettel.

Grosjean gets a three place grid penalty. He qualified 8th before the penalty, but will start in 11th now.
