Anne Hegerty, ‘The Governess’ from 'The Chase', joins Ray to talk about life in the Jungle, her late Asperger’s diagnosis and her Irish connections.

One of Ireland’s best loved comedians PJ Gallagher joins Ray ahead of his forthcoming TV show 'The Big DIY Challenge'.

Disability rights campaigner Joanne O’Riordan tells Ray about her transition from student life to working as a sports journalist and the launch of her brand new podcast.

Ray meets Stephen Travers, one of the Miami Showband massacre survivors, ahead of the launch of an international Netflix documentary that charts Stephen’s quest for the truth about the attack and his search for reconciliation.

And we have a unique duet from Camille O’Sullivan and Aidan Gillen who perform Roy Orbison’s 'In Dreams' in aid of Focus Ireland and they chat about their upcoming gig, the Sunday Independent’s ‘Rock Against Homelessness’.

The Ray D'Arcy Show, tonight at 10.20pm on RTE One.

Penultimate show of the season, possibly ever.

I like the look of that new show, 'The Big DIY Challenge', hopefully some mad people on it willing to give anything a go, a potential 'Room To Improve' with no professionals at the wheel.

I wonder will Aidan Gillen's interview be as tense as it was with Lorraine yesterday. Ray better not refer to Aidan's partner as his fiancee. ;)

Amazingly, it's not an absolutely terrible line up.

    As this show goes, anyway.

Ooh, Speed is on E4 later. Followed directly by Speed 2: Cruise Control.

Equally excellent films, I'm certain we'll all agree.

I think there's a How Did This Get Made? about Speed 2.

Currently watching ‘Catchpoint’ on BBC One :o

Not saying that it’s bad, but...can a TV show be axed mid-way through the first episode? :D

PJ Gallagher and Joanne O'Riordan are part of the RTE circuit. Anne Hegarty and Stephen Travers have a lot of potential with a good interviewer.

Hegarty belongs on Graham Norton, Travers would be good with Pat Kenny or Tommy Tiernan.

The only good thing about ‘Speed 2’ was the soundtrack...

Not to be confused with Welsh Megaman’s UB40, or UB40 Featuring PlentyOhToole, Skid X And monkey9.

There is one notorious example of this happening
On September 3, 1992, viewers down under were subjected to the first and only episode of Australia's Naughtiest Home Videos—or at least, they would have been, had the series not been cancelled half an hour into its premiere ...

Just 34 minutes into the episode, media tycoon and station owner Kerry Packer personally called in to axe the show—or, as Packer reportedly put it, "get that **** off the air." The broadcast abruptly cut to a Channel Nine bumper, and a network announcer read the following message:

"We apologize for this interruption. Unfortunately, a technical problem prevents us continuing our scheduled program for the moment. In the meantime, we bring you a brief alternative program."

The station cut to a repeat of Cheers and the show and the series was finished (although it did get an edited broadcast 16 years later)

I believe there are no more than a handful of shows that wouldn't be improved by being replaced by Cheers.

I'd love to except I did an all day slobber yesterday. Brownie points are at an all time low.

I'm looking forward to Anne Hegerty and Steven Travers.

Steven did a gig with Johnny Fean in my local back around 2006 . I had a fag with him out the back during the interval. Really nice guy. I'll never forget how upset my parents were the day the Miami news came on the wireless.

I used to take the Times every Saturday but stopped about 2 yrs ago. . I was finding less and less to interest me in it. Ross O Carroll Kelly's column was about the best bit of it and even that went off the boil.

Also meanwhile, the film that makes Speed 2: Cruise Control look like all the best bits from Godfathers 1 & 2 put together in one cohesive masterpiece, the shambolic and shameful Die Another Day, is on RTE2.

Never mind worst Bond movie, it's the actual overall worst film ever made. By miles.

    That's a fact.

They have to go head to head with BBC or they will lose the audience.

I'm surprised she's now in journalism, didn't she study criminology in UCC. I'd say media is more her thing, she loves the spotlight

I was reading the LLS thread in bed this morning while nursing a hangover. I couldn't help noticing a few people mentioning Mairead Farrell going on about her kids.

It's not often I say this but, she's worse than Ray Darcy.

I'm surprised they are delaying Derry Girls. They're more than making up for it though. It's been bigged up on every programme I've heard for the last three weeks. Even driving the car tonight I had radio 1 on and the DJ played some song because it was in Derry Girls.
