    hi there,

Bought LACK shelves from IKEA , when at home noticed that no screws or Suspension rail came with it . Searched on IKEA to see what I need to connect to wall but finding it hard to figure out - any pointers on what I need and if I can get them in IKEA ?

Normally the screws are not in the box with lack shelving. The support is normally IN the shelf, its the metal part that comes out of it.

IKEA tend not to supply wall fixings as all walls are different.

It should have come with screws but you will need rawlplugs - what type of wall are you attaching it to - stud wall or concrete? The metal frame slides out and needs to be attached the wall first, then the shelf slides on over the frame. The instructions explain all of this. You might want to use more than the 2 screws supplied. The shelf is not really designed for heavy items.

There are two screws supplied but they're for fixing the shelf to the frame, not for fixing the frame to the wall.

You get two screws with it which screw up through the underside of it into the metal rods.

The suspension rail you mention is a metal bar with two long rods - as mentioned by another poster, it comes already attached. Look at the back of the shelf and you'll see it, just pull that out.

I only fitted one the other day, just be aware of the max. load guidence they give...they only rate it to 5KG on a PB wall.

Where I put mine there was no stud to screw into so I used a combination of spring toggle bolts and some regular rawl plugs - there's loads of fixing points on the metal bar. If you use the spring toggles you can put much more weight on than their stated 5KG as they are assuming you're using just regular wall plugs.

Its also a liability issue, same as they no longer rate their castor wheels etc
