Myself and a few friends are interested in heading to Scotland next season for 3-4 days shooting. Would like to do some goose & duck shooting and a couple of days walked up shooting for pheasants and woodcock.

Would appreciate details and recommendations for any such shoots that ye have been to in Scotland, preferably within a couple of hours drive from the ferry port.

I Went to Dumfries some years ago. Fairly short trip from ferry. God must be nine or ten years ago now. It was a package thing, with bed and meals included. We had goose, duck, pheasant and partridge shooting.

All was excellent apart from the goose shooting which was what we really went for. It consisted of flighting on an estuary which resulted in zero birds. I didn't even get a shot.

Apart from that, everything else was excellent. Two days, walked up pheasant and partridge shooting. A duck flight, and a duck drive , all producing great sport.
