Debt collection repeatedly calling

I moved out of my house about a year ago and got relatives to move in to keep the house going. I was with Vodafone broadband and when I moved my relatives were taking over the bills. once Vodafone has passed it to a debt collector they won't engage with you so it's either deal with the debt collector or nobody.
