    Hi

How much would be reasonable to install this Hive Thermostat?

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B011B3J6B8

Is it a matter of swoping out the current thermostat and wiring this up?

It's not a big job or am I wrong?

    Thanks
    M

    Hi

When i join bord gais i got it for free and they installed it for me for free either. Just got it installed yesterday,it took 1 hour and half to the engineer to do the job, mine is a 2 zone.
So you will need to install a modem to your internet box, then you will have 2 box on the wall one for the water and one for the heating, and a thermostat or 2, 3... if you're multi zone. Then he went in the hot press for a while, doesn't look like an easy job to do all by yourself

    Best of luck

Did a multizone self install myself with guidance from this forums DGOBs. Quite straight forward when you are told exactly what to do but yeah, without DGOBs guidance I wouldnt have had a clue because I needed to know which wires from the old controller back plate went into which of the pair of Hive controller boxes. However for a HW and one CH zone install it may be as simple as a straight swap with the old controller.
