Kicking off at 2PM, live on Virgin 1.

    Scotland: 15-Stuart Hogg, 14-Tommy Seymour, 13-Huw Jones, 12-Sam Johnson, 11-Blair Kinghorn; 10-Finn Russell, 9-Greig Laidlaw; 1-Allan Dell, 2-Stuart McInally, 3-Willem Nel, 4-Ben Toolis, 5-Grant Gilchrist, 6-Sam Skinner, 7-Jamie Ritchie, 8-Ryan Wilson.

    Replacements: 16-Jake Kerr, 17-Jamie Bhatti, 18-Simon Berghan, 19-Gary Graham, 20-Josh Strauss, 21-Ali Price, 22-Adam Hastings, 23-Chris Harris.

    Italy: 15-Jayden Hayward, 14-Angelo Esposito, 13-Luca Morisi, 12-Tommaso Castello, 11-Michele Campagnaro; 10-Tommaso Allan, 9-Tito Tebaldi; 1-Andrea Lovotti, 2-Leonardo Ghiraldini, 3-Simone Ferrari, 4-David Sisi, 5-Dean Budd, 6-Sebastian Negri, 7-Braam Steyn, 8-Sergio Parisse.

    Replacements: 16-Luca Bigi, 17-Cherif Traore, 18-Tiziano Pasquali, 19-Jimmy Tuivaiti, 20-Federico Ruzza, 21-Guglielmo Palazzani, 22-Ian McKinley, 23-Edoardo Padovani.

I'm expecting a home win but unlike other years they'll be made fight for it a lot harder than they're used to. The Italy 3/4 are capable of a lot of pace and they've been faring better in the Pro 14 as a whole compared to previous seasons. Oh and Finn Russell is playing as well, which is as good as a sixteenth man for them :pac:

I think we're all too busy watching the most important game of the day:

    Cheetahs Vs Kings.

I was watching it in Smithfiled; they justly had the big screen up for it.

    Correct decision.

That line out was very very crooked. Scotland very fortunate

La Marseillaise in a full Stade de France beats it hands down

That's a pen against Laidlaw for diving on the ball there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,245 ✭✭✭ClanofLams

Italy always disadvantaged by their level of English, don’t think they had a clue what ref was saying their about ball being out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,258 ✭✭✭✭Losty Dublin

Great work and savvy by the Scottish pack to win that turnover, and ultimately a try.

They ran an ad just before kick off. Next thing the ad cuts off short as the Italian forwards chase the kick off, ad music still playing in the background.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

    Thats a deliberate knock on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Scottish defensive line offside, particularly the centers.

Bagpipers playing a blinder, fans just sit and listen though. Bunch of weirdos.

Should have been a yellow really, Italy had a man on the outside

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Quick line out wasn’t 5. AR missing basics on that side.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,258 ✭✭✭✭Losty Dublin

For such a dry day some of the handling errors are scary. Like the one that gave away the scrum that led to the try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Ah bloody hell italy, from a 2 man overlap to a knock on and a try given away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,454 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

    Forward pass(es) in there surely?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Russel pass was forward, should have atleast been checked.

    Italy look borderline hopeless here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,601 ✭✭✭typhoony

Good example of getting your best players on the pitch, kinghorn normally a full-back scoring 2 tries on the wing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

They’re getting no luck from the officials in fairness.
Very frustrating for COS I’d imagine

Italy look out of their depth alright. Could be a big hammering in the second half.

Italy poor enough without getting completely shafted from this excuse for a referee

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭corny

Italy not getting a fair crack from the referee.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,998 ✭✭✭c.p.w.g.w

Deliberate knock on, not given. Forward pass from Laidlaw for 2nd try. Italy have no luck. Also how was the ball out for the first try?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,245 ✭✭✭ClanofLams

Italy not great but with correct decisions could easily be ahead

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

    Absolutely zero atmosphere

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,244 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

Yes Italy unlucky with decisions but will ball in hand pose no danger whatsoever.

36 minutes in and this line out is as close as Italy have been to a try. And it wasn't even their throw:rolleyes:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Not straight again. Toolis caught it low to his left

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,619 ✭✭✭✭errlloyd

Hard to see Italy scoring a try unless an intercept or something.

Terrible game was expecting more from Scottish forwards.

    Great turnover by Parisse

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Was Pearce trying to get Allen to hurry up with the kick to touch there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Italy don't really seem to be at the races. Scotland should be way out in front. This is a pretty boring match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,779 ✭✭✭Dubinusa

Italy are very poor! The protection of their own ball is terrible. Very inexperienced sided territorial.
Italy need to score something soon to get some momentum.
2nd try, I thought there was 2 forward passes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,435 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Italy bench seems quite poor, would expect Scotland to score a lot in the last twenty minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,244 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

Didn’t see anything wrong with any of the Scottish tries. Could argue deliberate knock on alright against Scottish winger and a yellow card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,454 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

Nobody in the BBC studio mentioning that maybe, just maybe, both passes for Scotland's second try were forward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Awful patronising stuff, just expecting Scotland to dominate. Cotter on commentary ignoring the obvious too, Moore had to point out the double movement the other two lads went quiet.

Polledri in the studio is playing it safe.

Nothing clear and obvious from what I could see. Even Italians didn’t protest too much.
