Is there any use that used stamps can be put to.

In the past charities used to make money from them.

I'm not aware that this is still possible.

What can you do with used postage stamps?

Lots of Religious groups still collect them and make money from them. Many parish churches have boxes for them.

That reminds me I have a bag of used stamps saved up. A shop in town used to take them but not any more. One of the churches definitely does though so I'd say that is your best bet.

Do you have to steam off the stamp or just cut it from rest of envelope?

Cut or tear it with about a quarter inch of envelope edging the stamp.

Just cut around it leaving a cm around the stamp.

I'm confused! What's the definition of a used stamp? Is it one that wasn't franked in the post office?

They are sold to collectors abroad.

The Balbriggan Branch of the Irish Guide Dogs would only be too delighted to get all used stamps - The stamps are sold on to raise funds for Guide Dogs -

So stick on stamps not accepted. Has to be ink ones?

 Stamps that are marked as used by a franking print across them. You're confusing that with franking machine prints.

Sure just get a bit of a baby wipe and hairdryer and recycle them yourself!

(Obviously a joke, as I've no idea if that's works)

    Collectors buy them.

Ahhhh ok. I see. But surely only collectible stamps would be worth anything, not the standard stamps that are produced !

For many people an Irish stamp, particularly the commemoratives would be worth having. Doesn't have to be super rare. many collectors are completists.

Go round asking people would they like a stamp. If they say yes, then stamp on their foot.

    Hilarity ensues.

    Or convictions for assault.
