St Stephen green closing at 3:30 pm

The officer just closed it at 3:30 pm, or as he called it, the "eveining."

Off to the pubs then? What other options are there that the govenment and city have provided? There is hardly a bench elsewhere in the city.

"If you don't want to go to the pubs, then just go home." Sure, let me spend all day in my moldy damp apartment, abused by the landlord.

Dublin is just such a dark, hopeless city. And it shouldnt be. It shouldnt have to be at all.

Yeah, pubs or sitting on a park bench.

    No other choice.

Did you cross the street when you left the park and go straight into The Shelbourne?

    What’s your thread about?!

Go somewhere else then if it's so dark and hopeless and leave it to the people who like it. Would be so much better without people who live here going on about how bad it is. Go somewhere else

Go to a museum or a cafe, go for a walk? Parks are closed once it starts getting dark, and during the winter that just happens to be quite early in the day.

Could have scooted along to the National Museum and broadened your horizons, and it's free too.

You mean the playground and not the park don’t ya? I was in it yesterday and today and the park ranger/warden closes the playground at 3.30pm. It is sign posted.

    Still a bit early though.

And if all us working, tax paying folk who just want a park to sit down in at more than reasonable hours "go somewhere else," what will you be left with my friend?

There’s no lights in Stephens Green so it has to close before it gets dark

Dublin can be expensive for sure, but you need to look in the right places :-)
Have you ever been to the Science Gallery on Pearse St? Cool exhibitions that are totally free and something to do. There's so many free events throughout the city to enjoy. It's getting dark at 4:30, so it makes sense that the parks are closing earlier. These people have lives too.

Bushy Park. Gates by the Dodder are closed early, but you can stroll in from the Terenure road side all night long.

    Phoenix Park. Open all hours.

Loads of parks available to you.

    Etc.

    Etc.

    Shut up yer whingin'.

Jump on a bus and go for a spin. Jump on the Luas or even the dart and if you find things so bad get the intercity train and go see some things.

    Here's a thought:

Why don't you stick things like this and the thread on Starbucks in the Tallaght Hospital into the Dublin forum where they belong.

Nobody cares about the pale, except maybe those within. Therefore, Dublin forum :)

There are hundreds of cafes and restaurants within walking distance of stephens green still open at 3.30

Anyway youre alone in your thinking because nearly ten million people dont come to dublin to feel dark and hopeless or whatever youre exaggerating about ever year, dublin is fine

Theyd prefer moan on the internet
I dont even think dublin is that great or anything, its not, but I just find it so annoying seeing so many people on here make out its the worst place on earth when literally billions of people live in much much worse places and would give a limb to live in a place as nice as dublin

You make it sound like you live the life of an 19th century peasant in France, of destitution and persecution. I think you doth protest too much.
