Pushpit Rail

I have a ruffian 23 that someone ran into during the summer on the mooring and got out of there and said nothing. The pushpit rail got bent in one spot and cracked in another. I did a temp fix up job on it to get me through the season but want to sort it out now that I have a chance. Replacing it I reckon would be pricy enough so i would rather get it fixed. The stainless steel rail needs welding in one spot and straightening in another. I have absolutely no idea where to go to get this sorted. The boats in Dun Laoighaire so someone around there or the greater Dublin area would be ideal. Any ideas or a steer would be really appreciated.

Have you tried the class itself? One design classes are fountains of knowledge when it comes to replacements and repairs

I haven’t but in fairness I should try and make contact with someone else in the class. I’m low on numbers.

We had a prang with our boat a few years ago, and bent the pushpit - it's a Sonata, very similar in size to a Ruffian - I'm 99% sure we got it repaired here https://www.goldenpages.ie/ocd-metal-fabricators-dun-laoghaire/ - it's around the back of the INSS on the West Pier. They did a great job, we were very happy with it.

I'm pretty sure we also got work done here years ago on my dads First 32s5 when we were fixing her up after the previous owners sunk her!. My dad worked in Dun Laoghaire in BIM, and was also good friends with Alistair in the INSS so would have been down there a lot. I'm sure we got the rails fixed up in this place.
