Oddness with Chrome and searching on Google: results screen blank?

    My folks' Win 7 machine has started having a strange issue with Google searches via the Chrome browser.

    After submitting a query via Google.com, or even just entering the query via the toolbar and clicking Enter, the result is just a blank screen.

    e.g.
    https://www.google.com/search?ei=ABwrXOC7PNi61fAP_rGe2Ag&q=my+search&oq=my+searh&gs_l=psy-ab.3...0.0..6221...0.0..0.0.0.......0......gws-wiz.1U6Pmll12t3


    results in just a blank page.


    I've tried reinstalling Chrome, and deleted the history. Even renamed the "history" file in App_Data but to no effect.

    Searches on IE work fine.

    They're stuck using Yahoo.com for now as this works fine... any ideas?

    Bitdefender is installed if that's any use.
