No problem. Couple of good threads in the Nutrition & Diet sub-forum for a bit of community spirit as regards weight loss.

No harm but I think that's exactly how that diet is designed. It's designed to keep you going back to the classes and giving them your money.
You lose weight and when you adjust that diet it goes back on.
I've seen the meal plans on it and i think you are losing out on some of your calorific needs.
Macros don't lie and if you get on myfitnesspal and do some calorie tracking following your macro needs you will lose the weight and be able to keep it off.
You would be surprised how much you can eat on a calorific deficit and hitting your macros near perfect and adding in an exercise regime you will do it in as much healthier way.
Slow and steady is the way.
Losing 6/8/10 lbs a week is not healthy and as you can prove it comes back and then some

on the face of it there are some good principles in there, at the end of the day its just about finding a plan that you will find easy to do. what one person would find easy might be torture for someone else.

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

It's not really a fad, though is it. Some decent fundamentals and helps people build a better relationship with food. Not without its faults but not a fad diet.

And mostly people find the accountability helpful.

I think it is a bit of a fad. I know people who went to these meetings and they were told they didn't need to exercise. Just a bit of light walking if they really felt like it.
This to me shows that while fast loss will happen that if you do a proper training programme you will build muscle and the numbers won't look so good... Then people won't go back because they think it's not working for them.
    It's all about the numbers.
I know one of the leaders of these groups from my gym. She was weight training but preaching to people not to take on a proper training programme.

You don't need to exercise to lose weight.

What one of the leaders said to people doesn't mean the fundamentals of SW are particularly bad. And as I said, the accountability element helps people and many just go for the weigh in and leave to avoid the pontificating that occasionally comes with it.

I also said it has its faults but it works for a lot of people.

A fad is something that is short-lived. SW hardly fits that bill.

Ultimately, the goal is that people understand nutrition at a basic level but they have to start somewhere.

If you're carrying a lot of extra weight then walking is definitely good exercise.
It's also a good starting point for anyone who's coming from doing no exercise and will build up a good habit without breaking yourself by trying to do everything at once.

In general I agree with you though that SW doo a lot of things poorly.
