If something is too good to be true..
The shop hasn't received feedback in months.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,906 ✭✭✭clint_silver

tried to get one and got

"The product(s) in your shopping cart is/are currently not available for order."

I could make you a jacket made out of toilet paper for a cent less. Talk about scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Could you live with yourself the cost is probably a picture of the jacket.

Have never actually used Ali. Who gets your payment details the site or the seller directly?

I was always put off it for risk of scams and long delivery but that judgement is based on very little knowledge

Some nice bits from traders with decent feedback. Is it generally ok?

Aliexpress is massive, you pay Ali, when the product arrives and you confirm it's arrival and you are happy with it etc. then you mark item as received on your account and then Ali pay supplier.

Cant remember if I ever used them before I may have. But just in this, what happens if you never mark the item as received, does the seller never get paid? I'm just thinking that a lot of people might use them as a one off and forget about it and never return to the site.

I'm sure they hound you with emails untill you do it?

I use ali all the time, but you get what you pay for. For example when buying 18650 type batteries, you can pay 10E for a set of two, or 3E. The ones for 10E are worth their money, the ones for 3E are chemical waste.

A winter jacket for < 1E is only going to fill up your bin.

And least the bin would be warm!

    Might be like this?

    ad_207415225.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&zoom=1&resize=540%2C359

    Woman ordered cushions on Ebay.

    :D

Of course when the Daily Mail reported this, they added a couple more pictures to the article

It is obvious from the comments above that many don't know Aliexpress well.
I would have purchased over 100 items from them including mobile phones and never had any issues.
    Anyways, thx OP.

What’s the payment method people use ??

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,631 ✭✭✭✭antodeco

Just card. It's paid through AliExpress so no fears of the seller getting your details

Is this what everyone does, I’ve been tempted a few times but weary about the payment security.

You can just refund the money if it doesn't arrive. Just make sure to do it before the buyer protection runs out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 606 ✭✭✭bondja80

Don't waste your time. I just read on another bargain site, that they started to get cancellation emails. Probably I will get cancellation email soon.

Yep. Clicked the order number link in the shipping confirmation email, it confirms they were all shipped today at 15:00 :D

The tracking number is listed in the logistics section. It also says I can put in a claim if I don't receive the package before the end of February :D

    In short, Yes.
The site is only a host for other sellers like eBay so you should check store ratings etc. They hold the funds until you confirm the arrival of the goods.

If they don't arrive, or not as described you can create a dispute and get a refund/partial refund/return.

Order the biggest size, an Asian large would be small for Irish.
