Weight bracket for ivf??

    Does anyone one if there is a weight bracket for ivf ? I'm 16 stone and currently trying to exercise and eat right to drop weight in prep for ivf in Feb time.thanks

    Legally I don't think there is, but clinics would be entitled to have their own clinical guidelines. Some may limit you, some may advise you that your chances of conception are much lower while overweight. You should speak to the doctor you're dealing with to get their specific advice.

    The general guidelines are that a BMI under 30 is ideal. In any case and whether the clinic requires it or not, this is what you should be aiming for; many women lose weight to proceed with IVF and then manage to get pregnant naturally, their chances having been massively improved by weight loss.
