Missing delivery

Had a new pair of Nike's due for delivery yesterday. They arrived into UPS Dublin, then I got a mail saying they're delayed due to adverse weather. Tracked it all day today and have now been told they can't locate the package so someone has my lovely new runners. Nike said it could take up to two weeks to investigate but said they are probably lost or stolen.

Probably on a van. It's Christmas peak so don't start panicking yet.

Was the tracking page showing the parcel as being out for delivery? Mod <Snip>

It was showing all day as being out for delivery, then didn't show up.

I quizzed the customer service manager how the <Snip> parcel was supposedly on the van.

Apparently the parcels are scanned when still on the conveyor belt in the warehouse, not when they're loaded on the van. <SNIP>.

Very annoying, did you get a refund/replacement?

Here's my tracking history which makes no sense, got to Dublin, then delayed due to rain? It never said it was out for delivery though..

Had a random update that it moved to Swords on Thursday, no update on Friday and UPS said they have no idea where it is now.

Not yet, they're still investigating over a month later.

Mod If they are still investigating, its missing. This can be for a variety of reason. Until then please refrain from making allegations.

I was told by the customer service manager that it has been stolen.
I was told by the manager that they just need to go through the motions ('investigate') before they issue a refund.

I'll post back once it has been 100% confirmed that it has been missing, lost or stolen.

It's odd how it could have gone 'missing' or 'lost' between the conveyor belt and the van.

Everything that person is telling you is very strange. Stolen, go through the motions, scanned on the conveyor, not as it goes into a van? Doesn't seem very UPS. Mind you, they seem to have said the same to bedpan on this thread. Have you initiated a claim with the sender? Or is it a parcel you were sending?

I've never had an issue with UPS before apart from one day delays now and then..

With my issue, it was the UPS customer support rep said it was either lost or stolen at this stage and to contact Nike, which I thought was presumptuous too.

Nike contacted me today saying that UPS have said my Eircode doesn't exist. I got another delivery from them a few weeks ago! :)

Anyway, I've confirmed the address details are correct. Let's see what happens...

I'm guessing that means "it's not on google maps".

I am in the same boat. I had to explain to a driver that the Eircode existed, and the eircode website had the location of the house exactly correct.

Seems that way... Google maps shows a road with no house, it was built in 2012 :)

Hopefully they haven't lost the package as the shoes are sold out. Anyway, will update once I hear anything..

The courier companies were dead set against the Eircode format from the beginning, and said they wouldn’t use it.

Exactly, just another way to excuse delays. My mobile number should be in the address too. Maybe they can't call me for GDPR reasons :)

Nike won't put any information on the boxes what so ever. Just the basic address, no EIRCODE, no phone numbers and recently they have even stopped putting customer names on them. They are a nightmare for delivering to apartments and businesses.

A ups driver just delivered a package my wife ordered on the 12th. The other one just says address change on the tracking..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,627 ✭✭✭tedpan

The package was not located, Nike refunded me yesterday.
