Back to the Gym

    Hi,

I have gone back to the gym after probably 15 years or so. I have access to a gym at work so it makes it easier.
I am in my early 40s and have a reasonable level of fitness and I am in good health generally.

This is the routine that I have started. 3 days a week (Mon/Wed/Fri) and 3 set of 8 reps for each exercise.

    Bench Press
    Seated Leg Curl
    Shoulder Press
    Leg Extension
    Pec Fly
    Leg Press
    Dumbells
    Lat Pulldown
Arm Curls (using bench-press bar + weights)

I do all of the exercise each of the 3 days. Takes me ~50 mins in total. I am building up the weight week by week and will continue to add each week until I cannot get to the 8 reps on the 3rd set.

    Any comments on this routine?
Is it ok to mix upper and lower body on the same workout?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Well Done.

The PPL Program is good as well. Push Pull Legs. It includes more compound movements.
But whatever program is better than sitting on the couch!

Apps can be great to keep track of progress and keep you motivated.
YouTube is great. AthleanX, Buff Dudes, Starting Strength have tons of info.
