How many of ye were desperately pressing refresh this morning when boards was out of action?

How much time do you spend on average on boards a day?

Do you feel a compulsion to check your threads?

I tend to go from being on boards almost non stop to having breaks of a couple of weeks or so. I definitely get addicted at times and have to log myself out and tell myself to do something else. I pretty much get addicted to anything I like or enjoy though so maybe that's just me!

It's no more than a light diversion, don't take myself or boards too seriously. Not quite at a dependance stage.

I can stop using Boards whenever I want to. I just don't want to stop right now.

I am very fond of the place but find myself becoming more and more disengaged. There are threads I'll read but rarely post in, even ones that would have been a regular for me. I have all of these opinions and thoughts floating around in my head but I have no desire to post about them. Will see how I feel in a few months.

Not addicted at all. I only frequent AH and that's only for a bit of a laugh when not busy in work. Wouldn't post outside of work hours at all.

The little folk in the computer who speak billocks are an occasionally useful entertainment. Getting addicted to such a thing however, would be akin to getting addicted to the cat - it's probably at any rate theoretically possible, but there would be very little point to it. A bit like an Seanad.

I do check on it a lot each day, I would miss it if dissappeared, but I'm definitely not as attached to it as I once was. After Hours is an angry place these days, it was always a bit angry, but every second thread now is reactionary rubbish and it gets depressing to look at.

I just go on it while at work Monday to Friday 8 to 5 like clockwork. Now I am sure I have gone on at other times to but the majority is during working hours :pac:

It's handy to kill time, sometimes some interesting topics come up, sometimes it's a veritable vehicle for hate and folk with a chip on their shoulder.

It's engaging anyways.

I use boards as a light distraction in work. I never even look at it in the evenings. Life is too short to spend your evenings arguing, watching people arguing (e.g Prime Time, Vincent Browne, etc).
I get rid of all the pent-up anger during a run in the evenings!

Very addicted I have it open all day long basically, regularly checking during work on the computer and have it open on the phone all evening checking it while watching tv at home, in the pub etc etc.

Not at all. Most threads don't appeal to me and I don't log in daily.

I find myself unsubscribing from threads that are too busy. I don't know how people keep up with the 'what I'm doing now/eating threads'.

There are people here saying they're not addicted, but they're regular contributors.

I don't think addicted necessarily just means being on Boards every waking moment.

I have an average of over six posts a day, I often go several hours without looking at it even though I have my phone on me all the time, but I still consider myself addicted to Boards.

Regular contributors doesn't mean addicted though. I regularly drink it doesn't make me an Alcoholic. If boards was to go down for a week I'd be more annoyed I'd have to do work :pac:

I check it daily but don’t post as frequently as I once did. The motors and farming forums are decent sources of info.

A lot of the threads here in AH are cyclical. First 4-5 pages are decent argument until someone makes a wild comparison or people start pedantically squabbling over how something’s worded. At that stage the thread is done.

I think I'm more addicted to the internet in general and boards is one of my more regular sites along with reddit , facebook and twitter

There was a recent enough thread on one of the support forums entitled "I can't log in" and numerous posts in agreement that they couldn't log in either. Not one person picked up on the obvious flaw.

For me boards is informative, gives a lot of insight to various topics and is fun. Just the right mixture between everything. And if i don’t like something i can ignore it.:)
