    1600AF is Zen+ node (12nm) while 3100/3300X are Zen 2 (7nm).
    Same L3 cache (16mb).
    New chips have much higher sustained boost (3.9/4.3GHz vs 3.6GHz).

    Will be interesting to see if the frequency & IPC bumps can make them even in games.

    You're comparing a 4c/8t CPU with a 6c/12t CPU.

    It doesn't make any sense. Especially looking to the future.

    It would be braindead to chose a 3300X over a 1600AF.

    The 6-core 3600 equals the 8-core 2700 ;)

    But I'm only speculating. You shouldn't make any claims until you've seen benchmarks.

    Although yeah if you're futureproofing, more cores = better
