Leonard Enright Limerick Legend RIP

    Unfortunately some awful sad news this morning. Leo Enright, who just last night was inducted to the Gaa Hall of Fame, has passed away at the age of 65.

    A proud Limerick man and exceptionally proud Patrickswell man, he was a towering figure in the heart of the Limerick defense back in the 70's and 80's, winning two Munster hurling titles in 1980 and '81. He also won three All-Stars between the years of 1980 to 1983.

    A warrior. A legend. A wonderfully gifted hurler in his prime. May he forever rest in peace.

    One of the most down to earth and unassuming individuals you could ever meet.
    Farewell to a legend and condolences to his family.

    Could you edit the title and OP, please. A lot will know who you are referring to, but most Gaa people would refer to him as Leonard Enright. RIP Limerick Legend.

    RIP Leonard. As a Cork boy taken to my first games in the 70s, him, Quaid, Cregan, Joe McKenna & Ollie O Connor were top names from a verygood Limerick side. He had a great style and grace. Sad day.

    Apologies if I caused any unnecessary confusion regarding Leonard Enright, as he is commonly known. I hope that this thread can return to remembering Leonard, as one of Limerick's and Ireland's finest hurlers and one of the game's true gentlemen. A Limerick warrior and a proud Patrickswell clubman. A very sad day for the wider GAA community.
